About Me

Hi! I am 44, 5'4", and 235 lbs. I was 250 when I started my lifestyle change at the New Year. I went to the doctor and when they weighed me, I cringed. I figured I was pushing 200 maybe, but 250! I immediately started dieting. The first week I stopped buying breads. The next I stopped buying packaged snacks. Then pop. I now have no junkfood in my house. It is so weird to think of all the junk I used to have here and that I don't miss it like I thought I would. My husband and son are both overweight so it is working out for all of us. We all enjoy the Slimfast shakes and my mini blender really comes in handy. We also keep frozen fruits and yogurt on hand for smoothies. We also drink Propel and water. I buy the Slim Fast bars and 100 calorie packs. My weekness is Lindorf white chocolate truffles! I know I would have lost alot more if I hadn't discovered those at Christmas. We need to get into the habit of reaching for fruits and vegetables, salads.

I am a Christian mother of 3 and happily married to a wonderful man for 17 years. I have fibromyalgia and love to talk to people who have health issues. My son has autism and epilepsy. I think my other children have fmg also.

I am really looking forward to making friends!!!

Thanks for reading and please feel free to add me to your Buddy list.

  • 209#s! from 250#s!!!

    Hi,

Long time no talk. Well, I finally did it. I broke thru my blasted plateau of 223#s I was stuck at for 2 whole months and weigh a steady 209 for the last week. I was hesitant to post the new weight for fear I would bounce back up to 223. But I have been here for a whole week so I am confident that the scale will not betray me and shoot back up. Grrr, I hate that #! I can’t believe I am finally so close to breaking the dreaded 200# curse! Possibly this month! I now know that I lose weight much slower than most because of all the blasted meds I am on, so I don’t really expect to lose these next 10 #s in 2 weeks, but it’s a nice thought. At least right now it seems attainable. But I do know I will be under 200#s by the end of summer. I can’t imagine not.

    Well, gotta go,

    Best of luck…

  • Weird...

OK, this is weird. I weighed Saturday morning and had lost only 1#. Just for the heck of it, I weighed this am and had a 3# loss! Whatever, but I’ll take it J I now weigh 220#s.

I can’t believe next week I will be in the teens! Then soon I will break the 200 # curse and be under 200. It seems so close but so far.

My clothes don't fit any looser, but I had only gone up 2 pants sizes from weighing 200 to 250 #s. At 200 I was a 20-22 and at 250 I was a 24. I can now get into my 22s but not my 20s. I am so looking forward to getting in a size 18! That really seems far off.

  • I can’t believe it

I can’t believe it! I had cortisone shots in my back this week and was warned that most people experience a weight gain. They said it would be small but not too hard to get rid of. So I braced myself and really controlled what I put in my mouth this week. I felt like I did pretty good, too. Well this morning I weighed in at 223#s! Yep, that’s a 4 # loss!!!

  • yea me!

    Well, last week I weighed in at 231. Yup, that's a 1 # gain. This week I am 227!!! That's a 4# loss for this week!

i talked to my dr. about all my mini platues and she said that this is how my body loses weight. I get stuck at a certain weight for a few weeks then have a good loss break thru. She says this is my body and metabolism adjusting to the weighty loss. Since hearing that I haven't been depressed on my few weeks of not losing. It's not a steady 2#s a week, but it evens out to the same.
