WOW! Moment Highlight: I teach 5th/6th grade youth ministry at my church. I was showing the class a "Before" picture of me and one of my students said, "Hey! I remember a lady that looked like her, but I didn't know that was YOU!"
I didn't want another year to go by wishing I were thinner! It was time to cut out the negativity and stop feeling so badly about myself. I looked to my Christian faith in God for strength and willpower, and I read the positive truths found in the Bible. I decided to intentionally believe that those truths I read were for me and not just for everyone else. My favorite verse is "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." I chose to believe I had the strength inside of me to do anything I set my mind to. Since losing the weight, I have a healthier self-image and feel changed from the inside, out!

Personal Diet Hurdles: Nighttime eating. I used to love sitting down at night with my TV shows and food. Now, having my last snack bar during TV time keeps my cravings at bay.
Diet Success Tip: Always be prepared. I learned early on that if you have your snacks and dinner ingredients ready early, the day will go much smoother. Plus, you’ll avoid unnecessary stops after work. The more stops you make, the hungrier you become, and the easier it is to grab something faster (like junk food or fast food).

My motivation to lose weight started with wanting to feel healthier, look better and stopliving every day uncomfortable, depressed and withdrawn. I started gaining weight during college, and at first, didn't think anything of it. It wasn't long until I realized I was over 200 pounds! I became more withdrawn, didn't go out anymore, and was my own worst enemy. A few years went by like this, until one day I looked in the mirror and knew it was time for a change. That very day I picked up my first pack of Slim-Fast® and haven't looked back since. When I first started, I tried getting on a treadmill, but could only last 10 minutes. I kept at it every single day. Then one day I got up in speed and ran. I kept running and have stayed true to the Slim-Fast® Plan ever since.

Fave 500-Calorie Recipe: As a vegetarian now, I love salads and veggie burgers! I'm obsessed with bean burgers that have little bits of vegetables in them. Veggie tacos are also a favorite.

Personal Diet Hurdles: I'm 5'2 so every pound I gain shows instantly. My weakness is chocolate, though! Thank goodness Slim-Fast® has chocolate goodies, so I don't give in to candy bars and junk!
Diet Success Tip: Eat every 3 hours. It controls hunger! And treat yourself once a week so you don't feel deprived.
WOW! Moment Highlight: My photo shoot! Being able to be photographed in a size 2 was pretty remarkable! Fitting in a smaller size? I think that brings a smile to any woman’s face
