  • Re: Food is not a reward

I love you point - too true! I struggle with using food as a comfort. What I realized is that I was kind of cheating myself. If my loved one was sad, I wouldn't try to buy them off with a candy bar, when the right thing to do is be a shoulder to cry on. But I try that crud with myself all the time. Instead of focusing on the denial of food I've

  • Re: Christmas Challenge - weigh in!!!

Start: 273 11/5: 265 After going up a little, I'm finally losing again. I've been walking/jogging 3 times a week. I feel like the activity is really helping control my appetite. I started my new job last monday, so I'm hoping to settle into a good routine here soon and get back to Shakes 2x a day. Keep up the good work everyone!

  • Re: What will you make for Thanksgiving/holidays?

I usually try to cut myself some slack on the condiments for healthy foods. Like full fat salad dressing, and real butter on the veggies. Also, having fewer foods to choose from keeps me from feeling stimulated into eating too much. On the menu, Turkey, Twice Baked Sweet Potatoes, Stove Top Stuffing, Gravy, Veggies, Salad, and for desert - probably

  • Re: Surprise for my doctor

Thanks for sharing your struggle, I think a lot of us have been in the same boat. I read an article some time ago that shed some light for me - the main point was that shame is cruicial to weight GAIN for people like me. Since you say you gain AFTER getting a chat from the Doc, I think it might be a player for you too. I tend to be an emotional eater
