  • Can I eat extra calories on days I exersize a lot?

I am 5'4", weigh 156 pounds, and I am eating 1300 calories a day on the Slim Fast plan. When I filled out the questionaire online, I put that I do "light" activities, since most days I don't exersize all that much. I might walk to the store and back (1.7 miles, on flat pavement) twice during the week, and do a little gardening

  • Re: FRUSTRATED WITH PAIN!!!

Last summer I had a slipped disc in my back and one of the things I was supposed to do was loose weight. I did, but it wasn't easy...not being able to exersize means you have to be that much stricter about what you eat, and a lot of pain medications can make you bloated. If you see a dr for your pain maybe you can ask him/her for an opinion???

The good part is that if you put it on in a week it should come off quickly!

  • Re: old dieter...new to slim fast

I think Slim Fast works very well...when I was going through my divorce and hurt my back I go up to about 210...then down to about 170 using Slim Fast. I've used plenty of other diets, including Weight Watchers and LA Weight Loss and using a personal trainer, but Slim Fast seemed to work the best...probably because it's cheaper and I don't

  • Re: Starting it all over again

I lost about 35 pounds a year ago and need for loose at least 15 more to be in my BMI range, but it's hard to get motivated. I started (again) today...messed up a bit but not too bad...and tomorrow's another day. It used to help me to write down small goals.."loose 3 pounds" and "exersize a total of 2 hours this week." Some

  • Got rid of all the Halloween goodies last night, and starting fresh today!

I got rid of all the Halloween treats last night...exept for the Skittles because I don't like them, and my daughters love them. I took my kids on a hike today (a paved trail....so not really a hike, but I can't push their stroller through dirt). I felt bad for getting an egg salad sandwich at the end of it instead of my lunch shake...I mean

I like to marinade firm tofu in soy sauce, some kind of hot sauce, and vinegar, cut it into slices and bake it at about 350 until it's firm and chewy. If you can find Shiritaki (spelling?) soy noodles they are only 60 calories a package and full of protein, you can stir-fry them with veggies or add them to broth for soup. Egg Plant Lazagna, layer

  • Re: Nursing Mothers...

Since I'm nursing twins I'm supposed to get 1000 extra calories a day...but I'm wondering if that is too much since my girls eat A LOT of solid food and sometimes only nurse 4 times a day...they are almost a year old but I plan on continuing to breastfeed as long as they are interested and I'm still happy doing it. Maybe that's why

I have twins that will be 1 year old at the end of the month...I've actually GAINED weight while bfing and am only 4 pounds lighter than my delivery weight!! One of the hardest things is that I want to snack every time I get up at night to nurse...and I'm at home all day with my girls so I get bored and start baking. My husband is also heavy
