What cheese can I eat?

  • Cheers,

Most cheese has about 100-120 calories per one ounce of cheese.  Examples of lower calorie cheeses are feta (~75 calories per ounce), gruyere (~72 calories per ounce), or mozzarella (~80 calories per ounce).  To make sure that you stick to one serving, I would recommend having pre-packaged portions of cheese as a snack.  One string cheese, a slice of American cheese, a small container of low-fat cottage cheese, or another individually portioned cheese could all be great snacks.

    Sincerely,

  • I know most cheese is fattening, but I like it as a snack, especially since it has some protein. Which types of cheese do you recommend for a between-meal snack?
