Hidden Calories
Even though soda is fat-free, it's not calorie-free. A 12-ounce can of regular soda, on average, contains 9 to 10 teaspoons of sugar. On top of that, they are "empty" calories.
Alternatives to soda include flavored seltzers, diet sodas, herbal teas and
calorie-free powders you can mix with water. If you are turned off by an
aftertaste that diet drinks have, try the new ones with lemon or lime or try
drinking more flavored water.
