About Me

Hi out there.  Just started taking control once more.  Decided to change my profile.  Married, no kids, work full time.  Comfort food lover, and stress eater.  Losing steady now and happy as can be.  Starting to enjoy walks again.  Always room for one more serious minded buddie.  Was at 202 on 3/27/09.  Can't say that now.

  • I'll be back

Have not been around for a little bit.  Joined the local health club.  Was doing well.  Everyday after work I would go.  Then.....Bossman had to take me to urgent care on 11/6.  Injured my knee at work on 10/6.  Same leg is swollen up and painful.  Why?  I have a good size blood clot from the injury.  Was put on blood thinners so can't use the SF products for at least 6 months.  No exercise for a while either.  Was told to maintain where I am at so they won't have to keep adjusting the medication levels.  Not so happy a camper right now.

So for now, I am on a diet hold.  I'll be around and about yet if anyone wants or needs to chat.

    Hugs to all.

  • Here I go,

Signed up at local aquatic center today.  Little tiny bit.......ummmm not really shy, but not totally comfortable with it yet.  I mean.....people are gonna SEE me in the swim suit!  Work out clothes not such a big deal.  Got a plan and now need to stick with it.  Gonna go in the morning after work.  They do open at 6am and they said people don't start really showing up till about 7 or 8.

I can be in the pool and done with my laps by at least 6:50 if I get moving fast enough from work. Only about a 3 to 5 minute drive.

  • Been a baaaad week.

First and formost.  It was a BAD week physically and mentally.

To begin the week.  I tripped over the floor scale at work.  I KNEW it was there, really I did.  I was startled by someone hollering my name.  I looked around.  Then the voice says "Up Here"  What do I do?  Looked up and continued walking.  Next thing I know, the ground is heading towards me at a very high rate of speed.  Bashed one leg, black and blue from ankle to knee.  The other leg got off a little better, few little bruises.  Pulled a muscle in my lower back.  No walking or any other type of strenous exercises for me for at least  2 to 3 weeks.

The good news is....I did not do any binge eating.  That has always been a problem.  I hurt, I eat....a lot!  Stuck to the diet and put the little devil voice out of my head.  Also did not gain any thing this last week.  Did not lose, but hey, just glad for the no-gainer.

  • Just me

Finally, back to where I was before the new medicine.  Seemed it took forever to get rid of.  Happy and sad at the same time.  Happy I lost it.  Sad because I had to lose it again.  Still....

I am feeling better about it.  Still on third shift.  Had to redue the goal date.  Decided to go for January 1st.  New Year, New Me.

The best news?  Kinda funny in a strange way.  I have to wear a truss for a weak stomach muscle.  It's waaaay to big now.  Had to saftypin it up by a good six inches last night to make it work.  Kept hoping and praying all night that the pins held!!!!  Time to go shopping I guess.

Hugs and Air Kisses to ALL my buddies for all their help.  Love ya.

  • Here we go...again.

Starting 3rd shift tonight!  Just temporay, maybe 2 months or so.  So if I'm not around it's pry cause I'm sleeping the day away.  Hoping this will be the shake up I need to get the weight moving down again.  Started new medications that had me putting weight on.  YIKES!  Did not even relize it was happening till I got on the scales at the Dr. office.  I gained WHAT!?!  7 lbs.  It's slowly going down.  Was ready to quit, but common sence came in to play.  Just need to be more careful.  That's all for now.

Wow. Sorry to hear you've been dealing with so much lately.  Blood clots are scary!  Hope you are on the way to recovery very soon.  Bedrest is NO fun when it's mandatory.  God Bless -- Hilary

I see that you seem to have been MIA since you signed up at the aquatic center.  Surely you aren't swimming that much!  :)   I haven't been keeping a good eye on my buddies the last few weeks. My 3 children and I were hit hard by the flu...there was at least one sick person in the house for a solid 3 weeks.  I was very sick for nearly 2 weeks of that time.  Ugh!  Anyway, we miss you and wish you'd come back and let us know what's going on in your life.  Talk soon.  God Bless -- Hilary

I survived my show set up.  that truss thing sounds like a pain but maybe it keeps you connected to the fact that you know where your waist is.  Medication is drag, sorry to hear you are still in pain and working right thru it on those shifts!  sounds like your helping alot of people as well as hey, we have jobs!  amen to that. just hang in there, breathe, one thing at a time.

I have found that eating a handful ( or even 2) of almonds has helped my craving for crispy crunchy things. also celery with salsa- low cal and crunchy! not a chip but gives me that crunch that i seem to still need. also, since I hate hot stuff, i force myself to eat a bit hotter than i like and that turns me off ( although I continue eating it anyway).  I guess we have to play tricks on ourself, what ever it takes to get the eating habit in control.

feel better!

So sorry to hear about your accident.. You sound like a real fighter, so I am sure you will be back to speed in no time. In the mean time, take it easy and baby yourself a bit. As far as the diet goes, you're doing great. To not binge or even gain a lb. after what you've been through is remarkable. Keep up the good work
