No one is receiving email alerts from the SF site anymore.  They have really messed around with the site....it has NOT been an improvement.  The only way to get any of your messages is to log on and check for yourself.  Wish they'd get it fixed!

  • How are you?

You haven't been on in quite a while. Just wondering how you're doing??  Hope all is well.  God Bless ~~ Hilary

  • Happy New Year!

Just stopping by to see how your new start is going? How have you been feeling lately?  Hope you had a wonderful Christmas.  Let us know how you're doing.  Happy 2010 to you!  God Bless ~~ Hilary

  • Good to hear from you.

Hey there. Glad to hear you're back on track.  You can do this plan even w/out the shakes and bars...as long as you keep the calorie intake the same.  I am not drinking nearly as many shakes now, but the weight is still coming off.  I kind of consider the SF products to be learning tools.  They helped me to stay disciplined while I was learning how to eat properly.  Now that I have grown some self control, I don't have to lean on them as much.  Hope you are feeling better.  Talk soon.  God Bless ~~ Hilary

  • hey u!

    how have u been?

  • Aww :(

Wow. Sorry to hear you've been dealing with so much lately.  Blood clots are scary!  Hope you are on the way to recovery very soon.  Bedrest is NO fun when it's mandatory.  God Bless -- Hilary

  • Hey!

I see that you seem to have been MIA since you signed up at the aquatic center.  Surely you aren't swimming that much!  :)   I haven't been keeping a good eye on my buddies the last few weeks. My 3 children and I were hit hard by the flu...there was at least one sick person in the house for a solid 3 weeks.  I was very sick for nearly 2 weeks of that time.  Ugh!  Anyway, we miss you and wish you'd come back and let us know what's going on in your life.  Talk soon.  God Bless -- Hilary

  • hey mem

I survived my show set up.  that truss thing sounds like a pain but maybe it keeps you connected to the fact that you know where your waist is.  Medication is drag, sorry to hear you are still in pain and working right thru it on those shifts!  sounds like your helping alot of people as well as hey, we have jobs!  amen to that. just hang in there, breathe, one thing at a time.

I have found that eating a handful ( or even 2) of almonds has helped my craving for crispy crunchy things. also celery with salsa- low cal and crunchy! not a chip but gives me that crunch that i seem to still need. also, since I hate hot stuff, i force myself to eat a bit hotter than i like and that turns me off ( although I continue eating it anyway).  I guess we have to play tricks on ourself, what ever it takes to get the eating habit in control.

    feel better!

  • Hi

So sorry to hear about your accident.. You sound like a real fighter, so I am sure you will be back to speed in no time. In the mean time, take it easy and baby yourself a bit. As far as the diet goes, you're doing great. To not binge or even gain a lb. after what you've been through is remarkable. Keep up the good work

  • Keep up the Good Work

Sounds like you are doing great........Keep up the good work...I hope I do just as good!

  • hi

I think you gave me your email once before, but for some reason I can't find it or it got deleted by accident. My email is patchessapp@yahoo.com. Would you mind sending me yours again? Thanks

  • Carmines is a great NYC restaurant.

But i had absolutely no biz being there.  regardless i went  (told no one of my "diet") ( why is that shameful?")  I had water all night, ate 11 plain rigatoni from the edge of the serving plate, i really thin piece of lemon chicken and the banana from the "tug boat" dessert ( which is rridiculously amazing if you love ice cream) so i did it!  I was really proud of myself.

here's a tip.  take your fork and roll it in the napkin leaving food on your plate.  no one doesnt even know you are not eating, it slows you down and really limits you.

So here is what I learned so far, dont tell anyone you are on a diet,- they dont care and i think they only want to see you fail.  i think we somehow take their joy away.  other people there were also overweight ( as HELLO- MOST PEOPLE ARE!  isnt that crazy?) and they arent ready yet like we are.  it seems we can really only help ourselves anyway.  I hate making people feel guilty, I dont want to be guilty, I just changed my habits, that is all.  I am sad i cant eat anything i want and not gain weight, but i cant.  it would be healthy anyway.  Lots of thin people suffer from all sorts of stuff like cholesteral and such.  Oh I admit, my only concern is to be ( LOOK) thin and fit into my clothes.  I am incredibly vain sometimes and when i saw a friend who had had surgery to be thin I had to admit how much YOUNGER they looked.  gosh that is an incentive as much as anything.

So satuday will be my big once a week weigh in.  This was my first week and I can not wait to find out how much i lost.  heres  the deal, slim fast is not a miracle.  I didnt gain this in a week and I am not going to loose it all in a week, at 2 pounds a week that 25 weeks which is a bit more than 6 months!  I wont make my goal of thanksgiving unless i up the loss ( ugh! "exercise")  I know my evil twin would much rather watch a movie, eat pasta, popcorn and pizza and drink wine, beer, vodka cocktails, but heres the deal- he is getting smaller and I am winning this.  Ed, is going to lose 50 pounds, I am on my way to lose 50 pounds, 50 pounds are going to be released into space and I dont care where it goes but it aint going to stick on me anymore.  if you think your feel the same, let me know, i need the inspration too!.

  • Hello

    Mary,

I started my online class this week and its keeping me very busy at least until I get the hang of it. Its the first online class for me and I found it somewhat confusing, only because its new. I extended my walk about a half block today, becuase I felt  I could do more, so now I'm walking about 25 minutes per day. Im really trying to cut out red meat and so far Im doing well, however, i still crave a nice juicy steak. My biggest fear right now is that Im going back to my old eating habits and gaining the weight over again...H...mmmm
