I'm 21.

I've gained a lot of weight since moving to this area in May of last year (2008). I used to weigh 120 and now it's no where near that! I'm disgusted with myself for getting like that. I used to work out all the time and was in great shape, but I got lazy all of a sudden. I want to try and my old body back for my 2 year anniversary on February 14, 2010.

If any one is interested in being a supportive buddy, please feel free to add me. I'd love to help you out as well.

  • 2-3 Pounds a Week

    I was just trying to figure out about how much I could lose by February 14, 2010.
    If I lose at least 2 pounds a week, I could lose a total of 26 pounds by 2/14/2010 & if I were to lose at least 3 pounds a week, then I could have a weight loss of 36 pounds by 2/14/2010.

    This is just a summarization. I'm not sure how my weight loss will actually go, but I just wanted to see this process. And yes, I know it's healthier to only lose 1-2 pounds a week.

    What has me concerned is how are some people losing more than 3-4 pounds a week? Seriously... are they starving themselves??? There's no way that's healthy to lose more than that a week and keep it up. I bet they're taking diet pills or something like that to help! Hmm...

    Also, I noticed that since I had been drinking the "slimfasts" every day for the past two weeks, my nails have been growing fast!!!!

  • Day 12 of Slim Fast

    Ahh!! I got excited this morning when I got on the scale. I know I'm only counting each WEEKly weigh in which is only once a week and that's every Monday, but I was curious if my weight went up because of last night with me eating spaghetti after 7 PM...

    It actually declined 2 pounds which is a total of 5 pounds loss so far!! BUT I am not actually counting it until Monday, so we'll see what my weigh in will be and if it stays.

  • Day 11 of Slim Fast

    I woke up this morning at 6 to use my elliptical for about 15-20 minutes and to do a few other exercises. I ended up using my elliptical for 15 minutes and boy did I break a sweat! After that I did a little stretching for about 5 minutes and then I did a few crunches & cross-crunches.

    Today when I go home I will try to walk for at least 30 minutes!!!!

  • Day 8 of Slim Fast

    Saturday was an okay day for me. My exercise plan was the following:

    Use my elliptical for 10 minutes, take a 15-minute break, do another 10 minutes on the elliptical, take another 15-minute break & do my last 10 minutes on the elliptical.

    What actually happened was this...

    I got on my elliptical for 10 minutes, took a 15-minute break, got on it again for 10 minutes. I got hungry so I fixed a small salad and drank a Weight Loss shake. I waited 5-10 minutes then got back on my elliptical, but my stomach felt nausious so I told mysself to go for at least 5 minutes, then get off which I did.

    So I did a total of 25 minutes on my elliptical on Saturday.


    Sunday was a great, beautiful day! I went walking around my apartment complex's tennis court for 35 minutes!! Only bad thing is I ate 2 1/2 servings of spaghetti for lunch!! It wasn't too bad because it was the whole grain wheat (Healhty Harvest Ronozini) noodles and  a little Prego Mini Meatbal meat sauce. I restricted my whole week except for my Sunday dinner, so I'm still proud of myself! I'm still down 3 pounds. Woohoo!!!!!!!


    Today I will try to do some stretching & other exercises like a few crunches and maybe use my pilates for beginners DVD.

Oh look at you go!   I love it, jumped right into the program, doing it all the right ways.  Posting journals, I did enjoy reading, keeping a food journal, and exercising, eating right.. I’m so proud of you.  Look at the weight falling off too, so very happy to read posts like that.  I’m not doing my best.. going to have a better weekend.. kinda “fell off the wagon” as they say.  I tend to drink and binge eat when I’m stressed.. and I thought I was stronger than that.. I see I have a lot to work on still.  Thanks for checking on me.. and fyi, I’m not giving up.. this is a marathon not a sprint… and I got a ways to go.  Peace Coni

doesn't it just make you feel good when you exercise in the morning???  I love it.. I'm so proud of you and the work you are doing!  Keep it up.  I can't wait to see how this progresses.  You rock girlie!

I so get that, having someone to do it with.  I need an exercise buddy too.. I’d love to pay for a personal trainer.. but don’t have the extra dollars for that.  I also thought about advertising on Craigs list or something for a buddy like that.. I've never done that.. was just a thought.  It took me a while to “get over myself.”  I think that is something a lot of us here need to learn, you’re definitely not alone.  Thanks for the encouraging words.  Peace Coni

Congrats on your weight loss.  I count every pound.. but I must admit I get scared each week that the scale is lying to me.. but each week it creeps and lil more down.  Exercise is a hard one.  I'm doing it.. but it is rough and hard to set a pattern to do.  I think drinking the water has helped the most.. well and this site too.  The treadmill is boring too.. I always say it is like dog years.. 1 minute in real life = 7 minutes on the treadmill (elliptical is the same I'm sure)  peace coni
