Hello...I'm new to the program. I'm 28, 260lbs and I have diabetes. I have always been chubby but never to the point where my diabetes were out of control. In 2004 I became very ill and had to take a medication that caused me to balloon up to my current weight. Now that I am off the meds and feeling much better it is time to take control of my life and the first thing I need to do is control my weight and blood sugar. If I don't, I know I am surely headed for an early grave and I don't want to die. I have so many things going for me right now like a wonderful fiance and a loving family.  I'm not expecting a miracle but if I can lose even 30lbs of the weight it would be a blessing on my health and thats all right by me. Are there any other people doing this for health reasons?

I know I am.  Was told I have hypoglycimia which is the exact opp. of what you have.  Diabetes is the next step, according to my doctor. My mother was diabetic and she was overweight most all her life.  Losing the weight now should prevent that from happening to me.  My husband is also diabetic, he has lost close to 35 lbs and his doctor has told him that it is begining to reverse itself now.  I have now dropped close to 30 lbs now.  Today is my 3 month anniversary here at and on SF.  Hoping that one pound that will make it 30 is gone when I do my weigh in on Sat. morning.

You can do it!  Keep focussed and always remember portion control.  Easier said then done, I know.  I'm 49 now and want to stay around for a while longer.

Anytime you need to chat go to my profile and leave a message.  I'll write back.  PROMISE.
