lol.  I know exactly what you mean about saggy skin and stretch marks.  Yuck.  I had my son 2 months ago.  I used to run in the gym before my son was born, now there's just no way to do that.  I've found that my best time to work out is after I put him to bed.  I'm doing the Carmen Electra Striptease workouts and I love it.  It's my time to work on my body and remind myself that, yes, I am a mom, but I am also a sexy woman.  It's important not to forget that.

Hey Emilie,

Just wanted to encourage you.  I started out at 165 and have been on the diet a week and have lost four pounds!  I have been exercising every day though.  I have a membership at the YMCA and they have childcare there.  It's very nice!  It gives you a break--and I think that is motivating to actually go work out!  My heart goes out to you raising your child by yourself right now.  So hard!  Keep your chin up I am sure if you stick to Slim Fast you definiately get to your goal wieght by January!  Probably a lot sooner if you exercise too!

I understand how hard it is to lose that weight. I had my son 9 months ago. I initially lost a bunch of the weight due to *** feeding. Now I have stopped that and am back on the pill.  I think the weight comes on now just thinking about food.  I drink one slim fast a day and then am really trying to just eat healthy.  I am looking for someone to share the joys (?) and struggles of this journey with me.  And to share good ideas on healthy foods ect....  best of luck on your journey!!  Jennifer

Hi!  I had my fifth baby too this past April!  I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who is having a big family because where I live, I'm called"the crazy woman" for having 5 kids on purpose!  Anyway, i just joined slim-fast 3 days ago and would like a little support.  I need to lose 50lbs!  I'm sure you know the challenges of having many children and many food tastes within the house.  We are a very busy family, so eating the right things is convenient, but I am really trying to make the whole family eat healthier.  My biggest problem is portion control. So let me know if you need a buddy, because I sure do!

Hello!

I am Donna. A 23 year old mother of a 2 month old.  I weighed in at 110 Lbs (I am 5 ft tall) and during my pregnancy I weighed 164 LBS by the delivery date.

I am looking to get back to 110 lbs, I have always been active BUT I had a horrible pregnancy.  I had toxemia and was on bed rest, and once the baby was born I got pneumonia, heart failure and some kidney failure.  I was not able to work out like other moms, and just now I am starting to get my energy back..  But I moved to a new state...so I have no friends, or family except my bf, my baby and his family... but I do not know them well.

I am looking for some ideas..and support....

(I do not eat red meats, I will only eat turkey and chicken) but I have a love for cheese, and pastas... does anyone have any ideas for me? Or any work outs that would be easy with a child in house?

Thanks!

~Donna~

Wow! This is almost my exact story. It's nice to know that there other people out there just like me. Coping with an infant, keeping the house clean, cooking dinner, working 40 hours a week and so on. I had my son (now 6.5  months) back in March. Before I was pregnant I weighed in a 160 and was trying to get down to 140. The pregnancy was an accident so it pretty much put a halt to my weight loss. The day I gave birth I weighed 200 lbs and immediately lost 20, 5 of which I gained back. Now I'm stuck on this plateau of 185 and can't seem to get the rest off. I find myself eating what ever is convienient even though I know I shouldn't. I want so badly to lose this last 25 pounds before my baby turns 1 and I know that I can do it. After that, I want to lose an additional 20, like before I got pregnant. I also joined a gym last week so hopefully that helps.

If anyone has an extra advice for me, I would love to hear it.

Hi, my name is Melissa. I have a 2 yr old and a 1 yr old. I am 5'3" and I weigh 145ish lbs. I just started the Slim Fast program this morning. I am looking for any diet buddies to keep me going! Is anyone up for it? I am comfortable with my body at 120lbs. I would be happy with 125lbs. I just cant keep wearing sweats everyday. I feel so undesireable, even though my husband disagrees. I just want my old body back! Even if its not exactly the same, since I know that isnt totally possible after kids, but I really want to at least get near it! :) If anyone out there would love a diet buddy, please let me know!! :)

Hi, Melissa! I, too, am just getting started with Slim-Fast. I have a 10 month old baby girl and I have tried, sporadically, Slim-Fasting in the past. This time, I am going to stick with it until I lose 20 extra baby weight pounds. I am 160 and am aiming for 140. I know exactly what you mean about wanting your old body back; so do I! I don't mind the stretch marks because I can't control that; but the weight loss, I should be able to control. I could use a diet buddy, as well. None of my friends have babies (all older children). I work full-time and I refuse to go to a gym if it means spending even one unecessary minute away from my baby. I bought an elipitical machine (Nordic Track; it's great!), which I finally just paid off, but I've only used it once a week or so in the last 6 months. I feel really good after using it; I could use some encouragement. What can I encourage you to do that would make you feel better? Pilates, yoga, walking? Sometimes, we need someone else to give us a boost in the right direction. I have no doubt that you can lose the 20 pounds you're trying to lose. I'd be very happy to lose that weight alongside you! I am still nursing my baby (evenings and twice at night; I think she'll never sleep!), and, I feel that general fatigue (mixed with absoloute joy from every time I look at or even think about my baby!) that all moms of young children feel. I am a nurse and you would think it would be very easy for me to be motivated (for health reasons), but it's hard to do this alone. Food, especially fast food or junk food is just so darn comforting! O.k., tomorrow is the first day of my diet and the second day of yours. By New Year's Eve, we should be where we want to be, or close to it. Would you like to make that date a "goal" for us? We can check in daily (or at least a few times a week) to give each other encouragement. Nothing like a buddy system to jump-start a challenge like this! Take care, and best of luck, Julia

 Hi all!

I too am a new Mom. My little girl just turned 6mo old. My skinny weight was 125-130lbs, but I too am comfortable with around 135lbs. Right before I got married I started having some medical/hormonal issues which caused me to gain a few lbs for no apparent reason. So, when I got married I was around 140lbs. A month after I got married I started feeling odd & -you guessed it!- I found out I was one month pregnant. During the first few months I was very sick, so I only gained about 6lbs. I was told when I could eat, I needed to gain more, & boy did I! During the last 4mo of my pregnancy, I gained an additional 64lbs between extreme water weight gain & finally being able to eat. Total baby weight gain: 70lbs!  I'm only 5'4". Needless to say, weighing in at 192 lbs puts a strain on my body. I don't feel like I have energy & my joints are sore. I am 20. I had hoped my age & metabolism would work in my favor, being young. But I'm finding it hard to lose the weight still. Just to add to the uphill battle, I also work full-time outside the home. But I sit at a desk. I've tried the little exercises you do in your cubicle & walking after work. I just started using Slim-Fast this week & I am hoping for an improvement.

I know how frustrating it is. But I am greatful to know there are other out there who are dealing with the same thing. Hopefully we can help & support eachother. Look forward to hearing from you!

I had a baby 5 months ago. I gained ALOT of weight. I got pregnant 5 months after I got married so I had the newlywed 15 I gained before the baby weight :(.  When I was in the hospital to deliver I weighed 195. Today I weigh 160 and can't lose anymore. I haven't anything special this entire time. I don't have time to work out with a new baby and a husband that works over 60 hours a week. I am starting this today. I want to eventually get down to my pre pregnancy weight of 153  and my pre- newlywed weight of 135.  I am there with you! Take care of yourself and your little one.

Hi there.  I am a mother of a 2 year old and a 5 month old and yes....life is busy.  I have always been a weight watchers fan when trying to lose weight.  This time I thought I would switch things up a little and try this plan.  I have only been on this plan for 2 days but I am loving the amount and frequency of food that we are allowed.  For once I am not feeling starving and deprived (and of course guilty for eating a little too much).  I would like to lose about 34 pounds but could be content at 25lb.

I would love support.  Knowing you have to own up to someone makes weight loss that much easier.

Here's hoping for success....

Hi! I'm a mom to 5 beautifu children. The last is 3 1/2 months old. I work part-time and go to school. With my last child, I gained 50 lbs and lost 25 lbs a week after delivery. However, I've been stuck and can't lose an ounce! I thought I'd try Slimfast to see if I could lose some more. My biggest problem is getting in the exercise.

P.S.

Good Luck to all!! : )
