I was wondering what happens to your skin when you lose weight? Does it tone or does it hang? I am curious to hear from people who have lost 50 pounds or more. I just joined and looking to lose about 50 or so. My starting weight is 210pds and I am 5'6.

I'm 6'3" and I started at over 380+ pounds and I'm currently at 284 so I am close to 100 pounds and still have a way to goto 220. As for the skin, I heard if you lose the weight too fast it will hang or if you were extremely obese then the skin will hang.  I have been exercising and using weights and mine isn't doing to bad at recovering.  I had read a few of the big losers on the Biggest Loser show had the skin flaps surgically removed.

I guess it's up to how you are losing the weight and if you are doing any toning or weight training.

I'm happy with the way I look so far and hope to have a naturally look by the time I hit 220... I don't like the idea of surgery... so I'll keep exercising and toning...

On myspace account I had posted pictures of a lot of before pictures to show how big I had gotten and a somewhat current photo which I use here

I will be interested to see what my gut does unless I get some killer abs  LOL  :-)

Thanks! That is always the scary part. The good thing is I only have 50 to 60 pds to lose. I think before when I lost the weight everything flattens out. Thanks for your post. Good Luck to you.

it really does depend on how fast you loose the weight... your skin has to have time to adjust, and it does adjust easier if you are doing toning exercises, another important thing to remember is to keep your skin moisturized, so that it stay elastic..
