My name is Noel and I just started the Slim-Fast Optima diet today.  I've tried everything out there and I need some support to stay on track.  It' hard when you live with a man who can eat whatever he wants and never gain a pound!!  I don't feel hungry today which is nice but I've never been much of a snacker so it will be hard to remember to eat so many times during the day!!   if anybody needs the same support I do, I hope to hear from you.  Thanks!

me too! My family is mexican so we eat lots of good stuff all day but not only is it good it's makes you gain like 20lbs every time you take a bite. And I have the same problem about the meals and snacks we're supposed to be eating. Today was my first day I would have liked to do better but i know I'll get used to it. Well good luck and hope to hear from you soon.

Hey Noel! I just started and could use all the support I could get! Good for you for making the decision to lose weight. I'm glad you don' t feel hungry today...it sure makes it easier.

I've never been a snacker either, so when I snack on all the fruits and veggies all day long, it makes me feel like I'm cheating, even though I'm not. Kinda nice to be full all the time on healthy foods!

If you need support, just let me know. I blog often, and would be glad to help!

I am in the same position. I live with a skinny man that can eat anything he wants and never gains a pound. Snacking has always been hard for me because it makes me feel like I shouldnt be eating that much and trying to lose weight. Yesterday was a struggle trying to eat all the snacks plus the shakes and dinner but I am hoping today is better.

I just started today too. And like you, eating doesn't seem to phase my boyfriend. He's staying thin and all muscle.. and I'm getting bigger! I wish I wasn't hungry but it seems like all I can think about is food! :X

I don't feel hungry right now.. I just had the shake for lunch and I was starving after it but now I think it's finally settled and it's filling me up a bit more.

I need help to stay on track... I'm 21. I'm hoping to lose 35 pounds by my birthday (in March)

So do I!! It's hard already lol.. what can I say, I LOVE food! It's easy though to have the shake for breakfast and lunch while I'm at work because there isn't food around as a temptation. So I brought the 2 shakes and a snack bar. Shake-snack bar-shake-snack bar on the drive home from work- Going to the gym- eating dinner :)

Day 1: So far so good! Hows everyone else doing with day 1??

Hi everyone.. i just started on the slim fast diet also.. well, i'm not really planning to follow the basic slim fast diet plan.. i kind of came up with my own plan to hopefully lose about 40 to 50 lbs.

i was planning to drink a shake for dinner and to eat light and healthy for breakfast and lunch with fruit for snacking since i work out with a personal trainer for an hour, 5 days a week, in the late afternoon...

so after i come back from my work out, i think ill feel less guilty drinking a shake instead of eating something solid...

what do u think?

I totally understand where you're coming from!  My boyfriend is 100% Italian and ever since we started dating I feel like I've eaten everything pasta, which isn't the greatest! I'm trying...starting today!  Good luck, and I'd love the support as well!

Yesterday, I put on my walking shoes and went to get on the treadmill in the spare bedroom.  It was broke!!!!! The treadmill came on but the belt would not move.  I was sooo upset.  I blamed my husband for using it as a clothes rack :)  I had to blame someone other than me.  He laughed and said, "maybe if I was using it often, he would not have a chance to put clothes on it.".    I did follow the meal plan yesterday and I feel pretty good today,   I didn't feel sluggish this morning when the alarm clock went off..  The turkey burger recipe taste great!!

LOL.... We are going to do it.

They say that after a workout is the best time to eat because your body is in Calorie burn mode and your metabolism is up. You should ask your personal trainer they would probably know which is the best way to do it.

My boss gave me a big tin of Christmas brownies and Cookies today. Christmas is a hard time to try and start dieting. What Im thinking is that if I can get through the Christmas season while following this plan then the rest of the year should be easy, right? Im going to give the tin to my neighbors when I get home, I can't have it in the house.

I am still having a problem with snacking, I think im just over-thinking it. I bought the snack bars yesterday, hopefully that will help.

The snack bars are actually really good. so far i've been doing breakfast at 8 (work at 9) so I do a snack bar at 11, then lunch (shake) and 1... on the drive home i have the other snack bar. since i'm at work and driving it makes it easier so i don't have food at home tempting me... i plan on doing the gym after work today, i'm gonna bump up the intensity. i'm pretty motivated, i'm going to keep on this plan (i hope) until my birthday and see what the outcome is by then.

i don't have a set goal in mind of how many pounds i want to lose... i just want to lose.. is that a good idea? or should i set small goals every week or so... i'm not sure how i should do it. suggestions?

I am just starting today. I am 23 years old and getting married in July of 2009. I have Bought my wedding dress and need to lose wieght so that it looks better on me. I have been big all my life. Doesnt help when your Sicilian and your a Baker's daughter. :-) dad is one mean bread and pastry chef! So here I am down to my last hope of losing weight.

Why is it that our men eat everything they see and instead of gain weight lose it? lol Anyways I am here and just like everyone else could use support!
