Hi Everyone,
I'm fairly new to the site. I started my weight loss journey on Sept 1st. I'm a stay-at-home wife and mother with the Air Force. I love the chocolate shakes and chocolate granola bars (I love chocolate!). I walk Mon-Sat with my 16 month old son. Arm exercises on Mon, Wed and Fri and work my abs on Tues, Thurs, Sat and then have Sun. off. My goal is to lose a total of 30 lbs by my 25th birthday on Oct. 30th. I know this is probably a bit much so hopefully I can lose at least 20 lbs by then.
When I started my diet I weighed 175 and today I weighed myself and I'm 167. Yay, I'm down 8lbs!
I would love to meet new people and see how everyone's progress is going.
"We Can Do It"
Thanks, Erin
Hi Erin....I live near an Airforce base, but am not military. I am starting my weightloss journey today. It's almost time for my T.O.M., so my weight usually goes up a little...but what the hey...I will start with my weight today anyways. Weighed in on starting day at 184.5.
Besides the close connection to the Airforce thing....my son's birthday is on October 30th as well. And I'm trying to lose 30 lbs by my birthday on November 29th.
Maybe we can pal up and be buddies. Where do you live at? I will send you a buddy invite if you wanna chat more there.

Hi Lovelytori,
It's nice to meet you. It looks like we have a few things in common! How neat that your son and I have the same birthday and that we're trying to lose the weight for our birthdays. I know what you mean about the time of month thing. When I started the SF diet I was on it and didn't feel like going for walks but I made myself get up and go. I'm glad I did because I had more energy during the day. I'm usually the same way with my weight when it comes to the time of month being up and down because I have a big sweet tooth! But I was surprised that I was able to drop weight like I did, I stayed motivated and I think it was a good bit of water weight too.
That would be great to a have a buddy on here and help each other. I also keep a little journal on the computer to help myself stay focused for the next 6 1/2 weeks. I almost forgot I live in Wichita Falls, TX which is a very small town.
Erin
Hi Erin,
8 pounds is such an accomplishment! That's 3,500 X 8 = 28,000 Calories you either ate less or exercised more! I also want to lose 20 pounds by Oct 30. Mainly because my husband is travelling and he will be back on October 30 AND that's his birthday too! Well I started 2 days ago at 170, decided to weigh myself every Friday morning. It's already been a challenge because I have 3 children, stay at home mommy, hubby is away and boo hoo I'm feeling sorry for myself, anyways I really need a buddy or buddies. I do have experience with many of those "other diets" South Beach, Potatoes not Prozac, and even the dreaded cabbage soup diet LOL!
I would love to hear your progress.
Congrats on your weight loss!

Hi everyone,
I am also new to the site. I started the slim fast diet on the 9th. I am married and have an almost 8 month old son and my husband has four little girls (12, 10, 8, and 6) from his first marriage. The girls live primarily with their mom about a half hour away, so it's mostly just the three of us. I work full time as a 911 dispatcher is a small rural town.
I was very lucky in my first pregnancy in that I ended up weighing less afterwards than when I started! But I am still heavier than I want to be and would love to lose about 30 pounds by the end of the year. I want to have one more baby and would like to start that pregnancy at a healthier weight than I was before.
I weighed myself on Tuesday and weighed 166 lbs. I haven't started any exercise yet. Working graveyard makes that kind of hard for me, but I'll figure something out.
Good luck to everyone, hopefully we can all make this work!
Mandy =)
Hi Everyone!
Beaming with happiness at my first Friday weigh in, 165, which means 5 pounds gone! (3,500 X 5 = 17,500 calories). I never want to see 170 again, I'm working on my self esteem which has been lower than my yoga mat (which I bought a few weeks ago and was still in the package until yesterday)! I think the keys for me are that I can eat food as long as I stay in the 1500 calorie limit and that includes a CHOCOLATE shake or two, no other diet allows chocolate. And the other key is logging EVERYTHING I eat, The MY MEAL PLAN feature makes it fun and almost like a puzzle (whereas before writing everything down was such a drugery). While I was doing my crunches last night (16 of them) I was telling myself that even if I gained weight I would let you guys know as we can still cheer each other on for the effort.
Thanks for listening!
Please let me know how you are doing,
I joined this week. I'm a little older, most of my kids are grown, but one is still at home. I watch my sister's boys, the youngest is almost 4. I've lost 1.5 pounds, feel like celebrating. I just want to lose weight, 25 lbs at least. I have not been feeling good about myself lately.
I have an Air Force connection also, 1 son and 1 daughter are in the AF, and my son was stationed for a while in Wichita Falls.
I am trying to exercise more, that's where I have the hardest time staying motivated.
Karen
Hi Karen,
1.5 pounds is AWESOME! You're awesome! I did the math again 3,500 + 1,750 = 5,250 Calories. Which means you either ate less or exersized more. It's just fantastic. You should celebrate!
Chasing after a 3 year old should be included in your exersize log :) My hardest motivation is drinking water, ick...water. My motivation for exersize is small increments like last night I did 16 crunches and tonight I'll do 17.
You have one son and one daughter in the AF, protecting our country wow, I'm so proud of them too.
I'm so glad that you all replied and to tell me about yourselves. It'll be nice to share our ups and downs with each other and give each other motivation. I think I'll change my weigh-in's to Friday as well so we can share how our week has gone. To Shebear66, my calories for the day are 1300 (due to my SF page). I try to walk Mon-Sat and jump on my trampoline in the evenings. And on Mon, Wed, Fri, I do arm exercises and on Tues, Thurs, and Sat do ab exercised. So, I do try to stick to this but as to the week it's been rainy so I haven't been able to walk 2-3 days due to it.
I'm so happy to hear how everyone is doing and losing weight. Keep up the good work. For myself I have already noticed that I have more energy and a more positive attitude.
My start weight was 175 (Sept. 1). My 1st weigh-in was 167 (Sept. 8), down 8lbs and my 2nd weigh-in 166 (Sept. 12th), down 1lb. A total of 9lbs only 21lbs more to go.
"We Can Do It!!" :)
Hello Erin and all,
9 Pounds! You rock girl! Your added energy is a bonus. I have 39 more pounds to go to be "appropriate".
For those of you feeling down I learned a trick that seems to work. Take a post it note and write "I am worth it" on it and stick one next to your computer, stick another one on the bathroom mirror and more where you know you will see it. If you say it a couple of hundred times it registers.
You are all worth it!
Thank You! I love your phrase "I am worth it"! We are all definitely worth it. I would love to hear what everyone else's words of encouragements are and how you push yourselves to meet your goal. Also, if anyone has any tasty, healthy recipes they could pass along that are helping them with their goal. I'm always looking for new ways to make dinners different and healthy for my family of picky eaters!
I'm so glad that I was able to find a site that I love checking in, weighing in, and meeting buddies that feel the same way i do. It's great motivation!!
Awesome start. Im starting tomorrow. Thought Saturday would be a great day.My Birthday is Oct. 19th. I want to lose 50 lbs in all. One pound at a time..best of luck.
Hi All,
We found ourselves at Wendy's on the weekend, I thought it would be okay to have a baked potato. I didn't know that a Wendy's baked potato with lowfat sour cream is a whopping 370 calories! I felt kind of ripped off, I'm a vegetarian so my choices are limited at Wendy's, but here's the kicker....the baked potato with brocolli and cheese is only 320. I don't mean to belabor the point, just I know I could have had an amazing lunch for 400 calories if I was prepared.
Hello Everyone. Actual Air Force member here on a 1 year remote to Korea. I started Slim-Fast on 1 Sept and would like to join this weigh in group and hopefully keep it going to a while.
My starting weight was 205lbs. with a target goal of 150lbs. by 31 July 2009.
I am on a 1200 calorie diet but most days I don't eat more than 1000 calories. I work out at least 3 to 5 times a week for at least 30 mins none stop. My last weigh in was on 10 Sept 08 and I was down to 194.5 for a total of 10.5lbs lost.
My next weigh in will be 18 Sept 08. Wish me luck and good luck to all of you!
Hi Luissrausaf,
Your doing great with losing 10.5lbs. Keep it up! You'll make your goal in no time!
