I love gummy bears..might give that one a try.  One thing that I found that's working for me is the 25 cal pack of hot cocoa.

Hi all, I loved this thread. My thing is chocolate, once I get started it's tough to stop (even a couple of days later!). I have to stay away from it as much as possible. I love vanilla and don't have the same problem so that's the flavor I look for when I am ready for a treat. I agree with everyone before me; Awsome that it was only 10 jellybeans!. I figure I'm not dead just trying to get healthy so sometimes it's okay.(Now I need to work on how often "sometimes" is for me.) When I buy into guilt I beat myself up more and then make excuses to just give up and eat more junk I really don't want to eat. It's vicious cycle-so I just do the best I can one day at a time. So far it's worked-along with all the support I feel from all of you. Thanks~LW

You're not alone!  Two fruits that I find help curb the sweet craving are purple grapes and mandarin oranges (fresh, not the canned type).  Also, the yoplait "digestive health" vanilla yogurt is amazing.  It's really sweet but also healthy, so if you can try to put your cravings off until snack-time, that might satisfy, too

I have recently started eating a fresh mandarin orange in the afternoon (around 3:00) with an ice cold water to perk me up for my 5:00 walk after work.  It is really helping.  I never realized how tasty they are and the yummy citrus scent perks me up too!

This snack gets me going alot longer than my former chocolate and soda afternoon "pick me up"/ "slow me down".

I too have a thing for sweets! I agree with some of you on what you're trying to eat instead, I too love the Yoplait vanilla digestive health yogurt, but I put plain oatmeal in it, to add a "filler" feeling. I have a problem with getting so HUNGRY and wanting to snack, but since the "My Meal Plan" isn't working, I don't know what I can and can't eat, and how many calories I'm allowed, so I am really struggling! Any suggstions?

I have a guilty feeling too, but it's about something a little bit different. I can pretty much control my sweet tooth with fruit and the chocolate shakes and stuff, but heres my thing....    Every Friday since I've had kids, we always go out to eat. It's like my little treat, my break from cooking and cleaning. So since I've been on this diet, all week I eat my fruit and lowfat yogurt; have a tiny bit of meat and a ton of veggies for dinner.... but the whole time, I'm thinking about where I want to go and pig out on Friday! I like, fantasize about Chinese food and fried catfish   :)      And it's so hard to stop, because it's ingrained into our habits....    Anybody have any tips on how to eat healthy (er) while still treating yourself to a dinner out?

You can still do it, just modify a little.  Get the baked catfish, skip the tartar sauce.  (Condiments kill my calorie control~!)

Get a nice salad.  You may want to take your own fat free / low calorie dressing since some restaurants don't carry many choices.

Some Chinese food is very healthy.  Get a stirfry without added oils, go for the white rice instead of the fried and you'll be fine.

Enjoy!

My weakness is sweets too.  I try to curb this by working a little something in everyday.  I make sure I eat some sort of fruit, and I have found that sugar-free popscicles work great when I'm really craving something.

There's an optima sanck that tastes like snickers.  It has totally saved my chocolate fix, that and the chocolate brownie meal bar.  I just have to drink like 2 glasses of water with it and it makes u feel full.  Also, as a treat, yoplait whips has a chocolate flavor yogurt (mousse).  YUMMY.  When I am PMS and desparate, 3 muskateers minis help alot... just watch the portions.

Hi my name is Jeanette and I'm a Choco-holic.  First step is to admit, right?????

My biggest issue is I am diabetic and dangit, I can't give up the chocolate.  It doesn't help that my husband loves his vanilla ice cream with TONS of chocolate syrup.  I just salivate thinking about it.  I try to stay in our room at the back of the house away from the refrigerator during the day, but like someone else said we have a weeknight "date" where we go out to eat.  It can be anything from Pizza Hut to Chinese to TGI Fridays to a very wonderful Mexican restaurant a couple of blocks away (maybe we should walk when we go there....hmmmm).

Today I am good.  I did have a flavored frozen ice pop today, but that is it.  Unfortunately, tonight is pizza night.  Sigh!

My other weakness is Salt Water Taffy.  I could eat two bags a day if given the chance!

I can't believe what I just did.....  I had to go get my two year old a Kung Fu Panda happy meal from McDonalds (she's borderline obsessed with them, and begs for one at least twice a week) and there were maybe 15 cars in line. We had been running errands, and I was going to wait until I got home to have lunch, but by the time I got to order I felt like I was starving, and I had been looking at pictures of cheeseburgers for twenty minutes, so I ordered one..... with fries. I feel so terrible about it. I'm going to try to work it off this afternoon, but that meal alone was around 900 calories! Looks like I'm having lettuce and water for dinner      =)

p.s. Don't worry about my daughter getting fat off happy meals. She only eats a few bites. She just wants the toy     =)
