My name is Megan and I have gained 25 pounds in the last year! I knew that I had been gaining weight all year, but I have refused to get on the scale to see the damage I had actually done. I had my physical yesterday, and I was forced to confront the truth. I moved to Pittsburgh a year ago to go to law school. I didn't know anyone here, and ended up dropping out because I realized it really wasn't for me. I also met my boyfriend, who has really bad eating habits that I have picked up. I don't blame him at all and take responsibility for my choices. When I first moved here, I weighed 118 lbs (I'm 5'3). I learned yesterday that I weigh 143. That is a 25 pound weight gain in one year!!! That is about the average a woman gains during pregnancy. Well I feel horrible about the way I look and I can't fit into any of my clothes. I want to lose 25 pounds by March 2 (when I start nursing school), but I'm scared I won't be able to do it. I just wanted some support to hear that it can be done, or to hear from someone that is in my shoes. I just love the taste of food so much!

It is such great motivation and my stomach has flattened out a bit. I was at my highest weight ever... 221 on Monday and now I am at 216.5. I am 5'9 . :)

I wish everyone such great luck. I think the biggest problem getting started is your mind set, you have to want it so bad that nothing will stop you. I have finally reached that point. Nothing tastes as good as thin feels thats for sure and I want to feel it again! lol

I'm fairly new to the site. I started my weight
loss journey on Sept 1st. I'm a stay-at-home wife and mother with the
Air Force. I love the chocolate shakes and chocolate granola bars (I
love chocolate!). I walk Mon-Sat with my 16 month old son. Arm
exercises on Mon, Wed and Fri and work my abs on Tues, Thurs, Sat and
then have Sun. off. My goal is to lose a total of 30 lbs by my 25th
birthday on Oct. 30th. I know this is probably a bit much so hopefully
I can lose at least 20 lbs by then.

When I started my diet I weighed 175 and today I weighed myself and I'm 167. Yay, I'm down 8lbs!

I would love to meet new people and see how everyone's progress is going.

"We Can Do It"

Thanks, Erin

I am 22, 5'6, and 296 pounds. But, just last week, I was hititng 300. I hear four pounds in a week is good.....I just wish I could lose more per week!

My husband and I have changed the way we're eating, incorporating tons of water, fresh fruits and veggies, cheese, skim milk, and nuts. We've stopped eating seconds at dinner, and are portioning ourselves more. We are also planning on starting up Tae-Bo.

I could really use support from anyone out there who has been there, or is going through the same thing.

I am 5.4 and i weigh 176 as of this morning. just a year and a half ago i was 140 pounds. i was living on campus at the time and the gym was the building right next to mine so i worked out at least an hour a day if not more. it was easier then because i had friends who would be going to the gym and we didn't have bills or other lifestressors other than getting good grades and well college drama. i now have a job that requires very little energy and i'm still in college but they are online classes so i dont have to travel anywhere. i dont make much money and so i cant afford to go to a pricey gym. i also only have two pairs of pants that i can fit in and be semi comfortable. i have other jeans that are in great condition but i cant even remotely fit into them. the worst thing so far for me was the fact that my boyfriends brother (who is a jack*** by the way) said i looked like i was pregnant. he said he was just kidding but it really hurt my feelings. i dont feel attractive at all. im an emotional eater as well so i get upset and i eat then i get even more upset because i ate so much and i eat again. it is a terrible cycle and ive done the whole writing down everything i eat and i know why and when i eat things. i am a late night snacker and i need to stop that. i also eat when im bored. i know i can do this if i have support. this is my first time with the slimfast plan. im gonna do the 6 pounds in two weeks thing.

Tired of being overweight

Hi my name is Kristina and im 19 years old. I weigh 223 and im 5 ft tall. Today is the day where I make my 1st step to exercising and eating right. At this moment, im in Subway at my college and it is very hard for me to change my lifestyle because i'm afraid. I am very stressed out especially about my weight. Back in my high school days, I use to weigh 130 and now I just blew up. Eating out everyday has def. taken its toll on me. So today is the day where enough is enough and time to get my lazy butt out there and walk for an hour. I need support for you guys. I can't do it alone. My whole family is morbidly obese so maybe if I take the 1st step and lose weight, hopefully they will see that it really works and start losing weight themselves. Anywho, cheer me on!! lol

i need help here ...

hi im new here .
Hi,

I just started slim-fast, and I'm starving and so hungry all the time!! I have a Slim-Fast Optima shake in the morning around 8:30 a.m., and then I'll eat one of the snack bars at around 10:00 a.m. I'll have a piece of fruit around 11:30 or so. For lunch, I'll have another Optima shake at around 1:00 p.m., plus 1 cup of cottage cheese. Then I'll have another snack bar and a piece of fruit around 3:00 p.m. This sounds like a lot of food to me, but I've been so ravenous the past 3 days since I've started the slim-fast diet! I've also been getting headaches too. By the time dinner comes around, I'm so hungry that I'll eat anything! I currently weigh 155 pounds and I'm trying to lose another 15 lbs. or so. Has anyone else had the same problem? Any tips and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

I was looking at my calendar today and realized that five weeks from today is Christmas!

Now, wouldn't we all feel a lot better if we weight ten pounds less by then?

If I lost ten pounds by Christmas, I would weigh 169. How about you?

Anyone want to document their weight-loss on here? I'm just going with the ten pounds in five weeks because that's supposed to be a healthy, reasonable amount, but maybe we could push it up to 15 pounds if we all do a little exercise : )

Good luck to everyone!

College??

Is anybody else going through college? I weighed 150 at 5'2 when I was in high school, which isn't great but in retrospect a lot better than the 185 that I'm at now. As soon as I hit college, I have been living with my boyfriend. It's my own fault but living with him has really made healthy eating difficult, as he was always suggesting fast food and hates vegetables or anything remotely healthy. Again I'm not blaming it on him-the choices I made were still my own. I was just wondering if anybody else is in a similiar situation and would like to be buddies to hold each other accountable? I guess this is the only place since there doesn't look like there is anything for buddies anymore. Anyway, we could just maybe once or twice a week check in and post our weight, how we are doing on eating and excersizing. I just started yesterday.

SICK AND TIRED OF BEING SICK AND TIRED!

I gained over 100lbs. when I was pregnant with my son. I guess I honestly thought that when I gave birth the weight would just fall off and I would go back to being my comfortable size 8. THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN! That was October of 2002. I am FINALLY at the point where diabetes is knocking on my door and my doctor looks at me over his class with that "tsk, tsk" look on his face. I am tired of having to search through the plus size clothes and not finding anything that suits MY taste and I'm also tired of the wide range of health problems that has accompanied my weight. I am, literally, sick and tired of being sick and tired! I'm ready to take the first step...NOW.

Hi Im new here..

OK I have to ask .. I am always tired, and it seems like every day it get worse. i have about 65 lbs to lose, I tried slim fast a couple of years ago, but i did not stick to the plane from day 1. I drank the shakes yes, but i also ate. I am ready to make the change, I am loaded up on slim fast goodies and shakes, and also just purchased a treadmill and a gym package. The problem that i have every time I diet is when i am stressed i eat! I will do real good for a while then i just throw it all away over a craving, or because I feel the slightest bit stressed. Is there anyone that has some ideas as to how I can beat this?

Hi I am new and need to lose

I am new today---I want to lose around 25-30 pounds--I'd like to lose at least the 6 pounds by Christmas. How is this plan working for everyone? And does any one have any tips for me?
