I definitely know how y'all feel!! I had two girls only 17months apart, and I went from about 130 before being pregnant to nearly 200 at my post-partum check up after the second. I think I had gotten all the way up to 220 when I was pregnant, but I wouldn't look at the scale then, so I'm not sure! It was a terrible feeling! And I'm only 5'5, so it's not like I carried the weight well or anything. I looked like a big blubbery ball of FAT :( Rolls everywhere, a big huge spare tire all the way around my middle! Nasty! I would cover myself up with a towel or robe as soon as I got out of the shower, because I couldn't even stand to catch a glimpse of my naked self in the bathroom mirror :(

I just wanted to say that I KNOW y'all can do it!! My youngest is 15 months old, and I'm down to 148 now, and trying hard to get to 125 by my birthday in May. My body looks SO different, although I still have a bigger tummy than before (I'm hoping that eventually goes away when I keep my new eating and exercise habits up over the next few years!) But NOW I look like a girl (instead of a BLOB) with just a little extra fat around my belly and lovehandle areas, which would have freaked me out before having kids, but NOW looks pretty darn good to me!! LOL All it takes is just trying hard to make sure to eat the right amount of calories each day, and also like someone else said above, Exercise is key. As long as you're burning more calories than your taking in, the weight will eventually come off! :)

I wish the best for y'all, and I hope you'll stay motivated, because you CAN do it!! :)

p.s. I JUST stopped wearing my maternity jeans! LOL It took a long time, but I finally got to the point where regular jeans looked better on me! That was a real milestone :)

Re: New Mom with a Muffin Top

Hi I just started today, but I can tell you that my sister n law weighed in at 220 and she is barely 5 foot she may even be 4"11. The weight just kind of came out of nowhere I didn't see it come on just like with myself. She decieded to make a change and quit drinking everything but water. she started eating portion controlled meals and working out. She got down to 165 pounds and looks awesome! It took about 4 months but was well worth it none of us had realized how large she had gotten till after she lost the weight.

We both had babies this year in July me the 30th and her the 31st. We have both put on about 20 pounds since the babies birth.

So this is going to be my shot before my wedding in April of 09. It's very hard for me being a stay at home mom with 5 girls. My hubby to be can eat all day long and not gain an ounce, I found myself eating the same garbage he does and put on 25 pounds since I moved in. Not to mention his family has a BBQ place so we get to eat there anytime we want for free.

I find myself batteling an addiction with super large portions. I will eat and eat till I can't breath. Today is the day! I am 5'4 and weighed in today at 178 which is what I weighed pregnant and very depressing for me. Everything hurts my back my and everywhere on my body are rolls and rolls of pure fat. I carry the weight everywhere my arms are the worst measuring 20 centimeters around. they are thicker than my neck.

And my muffin top has graduated to a spare tire all around. and when I wear jeans I swear it looks like I have two butts!lol

You can lose the weight and I know I can too. It is gonna be hard ut I am ready for a change. Good luck and keep me posted

Re: New Mom with a Muffin Top

Hi,

I know exactly how you feel. I have a 13month old and weigh the same as when I was pregnant. I am at 245 and Im 5'1 and I just started all of this again. I had lost weight through weight watchers and got down to 195 before I got pregnant so I am mad at myself for letting it go this far. I have been eating all the extras that my son does not eat since he eat food. I have stopped that because those little bits helped contribute to this huge weight gain.I also started to exercise today . I did cardio and went walking as a family. so those can help as well. One thing I have learned with loosing weight before is that exercise is key.

good luck

New Mom with a Muffin Top

Hi everyone, I just joined Slimfast.com today. I have an adorable 4 month old baby boy and I am bigger than I have ever been in my life. I weighed myself just now and am tipping the scales at 210, quite a load for my 5'3" frame. While pregnant, I got up to about 230 I think it was and now I am ready to get the rest of this off. Long term, I'd like to lose about 80 lbs.

So here, I am, tired of still wearing maternity jeans, tired of still wearing my fiance's shirts, 25 years old and scared of how much it hurts to go up the stairs. I wake up every morning and my feet ache when I take those first steps out of bed. I developed some horrendous eating habits during pregnancy, and those along with hormonal ups and downs and the stress of balancing a baby, my fiance's 5 1/2 year old daughter, working part time and going to school full time have resulted in a gorgeous physique.

This weight is holding me back in every aspect of my life and I am ready to lose it and set a good example for my son!
