You will get lots of ideas here, but I will just give you mine.
I use the SF powder mix, French vanilla. I blend it with ice in a mini 1 serving size blender. It tastes just like an ice cream shake and is so filling. It also gives you some of your water allowance.
That brings us to water. Water keeps our metabolism up and helps to fill us up. Drink water when you are hungry and before you eat. I use Propel packets, ½ at a time. You can also use Crystal Light or something like that, but I think the propel tastes better and since I am using ½, I can afford the calories. Stop drinking pop.
Make a statement to yourself by throwing out all the junk in your house. It seems drastic but it really started me off well. I couldn’t go out and buy chips and cookies if I had just tossed them out. My family didn’t like it, but they adjusted. I told them they were free to eat whatever they wanted, but I would not buy it. (They have since lost weight too.)
I eat breakfast instead of dinner. It gives me the energy I need to start my day and to exercise. It helps me not to feel hungry all day. It also helps me to not worry about making and eating dinner. Plus this way food doesn’t sit in your stomach all night and turn to fat. If I know I am going to eat out, that is all I will eat for that day. No breakfast.
Eat your snacks. This was a hard one for me because I get full on the shakes and had a hard time forcing myself to eat when not hungry. Now my body has adjusted to eating the snacks and reminds me to eat them.
Chew sugar free gum. I like Ice Breakers smoothie gum because I can blow bubbles. It
keeps my mouth busy.
Exercise every day. I walk at my mall M-W-F. 2 laps is 1 mile. I struggled with 1 mile in the beginning. Now I am up to 3 miles and pushing that even. I try to ride my recumbent bike for 15 mins on Tu-Th-Sa. I also try to use my wii fit on those days. My goal is 15 mins each on those days to total ½ an hour but I’m not there yet. I also want to get back to water aerobics at the Y but haven’t yet. My dr. says I will lose much faster if I exercise every day no matter what so that is my goal. This would all be so much easier if I had a buddy with me. The mall is free and the Y has scholarships if money is an issue.
So there are my ideas. So far I have lost 23 #s since Jan 1.
I could Not have done any of this without the support and encouragement I find here. These wonderful people have helped me with advice that I passed on to you. They have lifted me when I fall. They have led when I strayed. Even when they aren’t talking directly to me, but aimed at someone else, it helps me.
So my biggest advice… Log On Every Day!!!
Feel free to add me as a buddy!
