This is how I have to eat because of my scheduel during the week (4 days only)....i had to change some things. So is this too much or not enough....because I am not losing anything, I am gaining...

3AM - Shake

7AM-2 sm. apples diced up

9:30AM-Turkey sandwich, Light miricle whip, turkey, 2% swiss & 30 Grapes

12PM - Fiber One Bar

3PM-Shake

6PM-sensible meal...most of the time Subway.

I do switch it up to make a variety too, but with the same scheduel =]

I drink water, propel water, and thats about it. I work out for 3 hours 4 times a week. What am I doing wrong? Is this too much food? This is how I have to eat cuz of my scheduel so I cant change the times, but I can change what I eat if necassary =] Please let me know! Thanks in advance!

MellieMel2008,

In order to more acurately calculate your caloric intake, I need to know exactly what you're eating for your Sensible Meal, and exactly how much turkey, what type of bread, how much miracle whip, and how much cheese you are putting on that turkey sandwich.

In addition, in order for me to know if it is too much or not enough for you, I will also need to know your current weight and height.

Finally, when you say you are working out for 3 hours 4 times a week, do you mean that each workout is 3 hours? For a total of 12 hours a week?  That is a lot of exercise.  What exactly are you doing?

Thanks for the reply! Ok my height is 5'5" and I am 175 pounds. Sensible meal is 1/2 Subway grilled chicken sandwich with italian bread or flatbread chicken flourintene (spinach and artichoke spread) sand. with southwest sauce(1 TBS), all the veggies, 4 slices of cheese. And a 21oz. raspberry iced tea. That or I buy those frozen dinners with the shrimp, veggies, noodles, sometimes chicken from Birdseye. they are called meals for 2. I eat prob. half the bag with a side salad. and 1 tbs FF ranch. I have been using silk soymilk with my shakes. The one with omega 3. As for my sandwich at lunch....i use 2 slices of cracked wheat, 1 slice 2% swiss, and 1 TBS light miricle whip. turkey is the serving size...6 slices = 70 calories.

When I work out...yes thats exactly right. I do the tredmill for 1 hr at 3.5 mph. Then I get on the excersise bike for 1/2 hr. Then I get on the eliptical for 1/2 hr. Then back on the tredmill for 1 hr. at 3.5 mph. Is that too little or too much? Should I tone it down? I am not seeing any results. I almost feel like its impossible for me to lose weight anymore =[ But I keep trying. Any help would be greatly appriciated, beacuse I keep going on and off this diet because I feel like it is not working....and I dont think its helping to keep changing my diet around either =/

BTW...I have IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome)....and I am supposed to stay away from too many dairy products, fried foods, and preservatives....

MellieMel2008,

On the Slim-fast Plan, we recommend engaging in 30-60 minutes of moderate activity on most days of the week.  Working out for 3 hours at a time can be taxing on your body, and should only be done if you have cleared it with a doctor first.  And, if you are going to be doing all that exercise, you will likely need to increase your protein and calorie intake.

As for your calorie intake, not including your dinner and propels, you are consuming approximately 1100-1200 calories.  Your dinners then vary in calories.  For instance, the chicken florentine sandwich is 520 calories, the Footlong Chicken *** sandwich is 630, the southwest sauce is 100 calories, and the cheese ranges in calories from 100-120.  The raspberry tea may add calories as well if it is not diet.

According to just your current weight, we would normally recommend 1500-1700 calories.  However, due to your 3 hours of exercise, 4 days a week, you will likely need more than that.  I would recommend you talk to your doctor about your exercise routine to see what he/she suggests.

I would also be more than happy to talk to you over the phone to further discuss your diet with you.  Please feel free to give me a call at 1-800-SLIMFAST (754-6327).  I am here Monday-Friday, 9AM-5PM.
