I am a very picky eatter with more foods that i dislike instead of liking. I was wondering what were some of the normal foods people can cook and eat while on the slim fast diet. My biggest problem is i hate vegtable with the exception of corn! Help!
Wow, you sound like my husband. He is soo picky. He is like you, he only likes corn and broc. smothered in cheese. Yesterday and cooked turkey burgers and fries in the oven for him and I had a salad. Fries in the oven are better than cooking them on the stove with all that grease. Do you like potatoes. He like potatoes so I tried to either have baked potatoes for him or baked fries, fried okra in the oven and. He will eat veggies in soup or stew. So, I will put them in there. Have you tried that? R u can't eat it that way either?
Hi mhudson87,
The good news is that you can alter the Slim-Fast plan based on your own food preferences. You can utilize "My Meal plan which will calculate your daily intake based on what you enter. You can make substitutions to your weekly Meals by clicking "Substitute" next to the food we recommend and you will find a list of suggested foods that will have similar nutrition and calorie content of that food item in order to meet your nutrition needs for the day. If you do not prefer anything in your substitute list, feel free to add foods in "Define New Food" that you like. When adding your own foods, just make sure you have the appropriate portion size and amount of calories.
Getting vegetables into your diet is very beneficial to your health because they offer many vitamins, minerals, fiber, and cancer/disease fighting antioxidants. Even though someone may not get a variety of vegetables, they can continue to try to eat the ones they like while on the Slim-Fast Plan, plus having the other foods in a sensible meal of approximately 500 calories. Just to let you know, the Slim-Fast plan is a calorie controlled diet, so a person should be able to lose weight without a variety of vegetables if they are eating the same amount of calories associated with the plan or with their individual needs. A 1/2 cup of starchy vegetables such as corn or peas would be considered your starch serving in the sensible meal. For the cooked vegetables we recommend, keep in mind taht the three servings of vegetables in the sensible meal contribute approximately 75 calories in order to substitute it for something else. Essentially following the Slim-Fast plan as stated or the substitutions in "My Meal Plan" and including the vegetables that you do like in your diet will help you meet your daily nutriiton needs.
