Hello everyone! My name is Megan and I have gained 25 pounds in the last year! I new that I had been gaining weight all year, but I have refused to get on the scale to see the damage I had actually done. I had my physical yesterday, and I was forced to confront the truth. I moved to Pittsburgh a year ago to go to law school. I didn't know anyone here, and ended up dropping out because I realized it really wasn't for me. I also met my boyfriend, who has really bad eating habits that I have picked up. I don't blame him at all and take responsibility for my choices. When I first moved here, I weighed 118 lbs (I'm 5'3). I learned yesterday that I weigh 143. That is a 25 pound weight gain in one year!!! That is about the average a woman gains during pregnancy. Well I feel horrible about the way I look and I can't fit into any of my clothes. I want to lose 25 pounds by March 2 (when I start nursing school), but I'm scared I won't be able to do it. I just wanted some support to hear that it can be done, or to hear from someone that is in my shoes. I just love the taste of food so much!

I just started the slim fast diet a few days ago.  I love food, too, but in the past few days I've found that healthy food can taste just as good---it's just a matter of making the better choice.  Tonight, my husband and I had loaded baked potatoes for dinner.  He loaded his with ranch and butter and bacon and tons of cheese.  I loaded mine with light butter (which tastes the same as regular) and broccoli w/ cheese sauce that comes in a single microwave pack.  It tasted so good, was super filling, and I could barely eat it all.  For under 500 calories.  Stick with it and just focus on making healthier choices...that's what I'm trying.  WE CAN DO IT!
