I'm 22, 5'6, and weight 296. I've lost 4 pounds for my first week, and I'm pretty psyched about it!!
I'm so blessed, because my wonderful husband is sticking with me while we are changing our eating habits. I don't do the "diet" thing, because, let's face it, diets are only temporary. I needed something that would be a forever thing. So John and I are eating fruits and veggies, nuts and cheeses, skim milk and LOTS of water. We are also drinking TONS of food.
So far, I have been stuffed - Not hungry at all. I feel good. I will keep posting, and would love to hear anyone else's stories!

Hey Melissa! Way to Go!! I'm CERTAIN you can do this!!! I think "starting" is half the battle! Just don't give up, okay?? I think that's the biggest problem with "most" people including myself. We're always going to have weeks where we gain 2 lbs and get discouraged and feel like a failure, that is just part of it. The KEY is to start over the next day! Exercise, determination, & persistence will ensure your success in this!!! I drink protein water by Special K....called K20. It kinda helps fill me up. (little packets you mix with water in the SlimFast aisle) The SF shakes are delicious to me....love the Royal chocolate! I just started eating Special K cereal each morning for breakfast, but I was eating SF meal bars every day. You're SO "blessed" to have a husband that supports you in this and encourages you! Mine isn't a big help in that way, but he's still a good guy! He says "don't talk about it so much and just DO IT!" I'm a talker....I HAVE to talk about my good or bad eating days. But I met a VERY supportive friend thru SF and that's been a lifesaver! You are doing such an AWESOME thing for your health....KUDOS to you!!!! :) :) leigh
PS: My father-in-law died of diabetes complications and you would "never" want to go down a path like his! That's mostly WHY I want to improve my own health. I would never want my child or husband to go thru everything his wife went thru!
I'm so sorry to hear about your father-in-law!! As far as diabetes goes, my dad, my aunt, and my late grandmother all have/had diabetes. I'm a prime candidate for it. That's really why I'm looking to improve my health too!
I've heard a lot about the K20...I think I'm going to try it. I love the Royal Chocolate too! My absolute favorite is the cappuccino, but I can't drink caffine (I have OCD) so I can't enjoy them anymore. :(
Thank you so much for your support! Good luck to you! I know you can do well!
