Hello, I just joined the slimfast trend today. I guess I need a buddy since my husband eats like a horse as I enviously watch. He supports me but, he always says "you dont need to lose weight baby, you are fine and you are not fat...blah, blah, blah" ha ha, its funny. Anyways, I turned 30 and had my last and 4th kid on April 20, 2007 and I still have the weight!! Actually, I weigh 155 pounds today and I want to go back down to 125 or so. I am in the military and work out but, with a 12-15 hours dedicated to the Army, I cant totally concentrate on food. Anyways, Im on leave for the next 4 weeks...THANK GOODNESS! and I planned on resting and relaxing BUT!...this morning I put on my cute little blue tank top and man I couldn't believe how tight it was and how I actually had a tire around my belly!! Ha ha, and my arms were all flabby and my underarms had more there! I was grossed out by everything and changed my shirt to a large t-shirt and it was just a true turning point for me! Anyways, I could go on and on. Okay, so now Im done. Alright goodnight.

 Hi Mandy,

You sound a bit like me, except my youngest daughter is a bit older.  I took a sit down job and gained 20 lbs, then I started my Master's degree and gained another 30 lbs due to the late night studying and reading.  I got pregnant during my Master's program and gained more weight.  I went from 135 to 225 by the time everything was done.  I have lost some weight and I am now down to 178.  I bought a Wii Fit, Pilates DVD, and a Weight Loss dance DVD but I find it difficult to find the time to work out.  My youngest daughter was born 1/18/06 (now almost 3 yrs old), but I am a mother of 4 (ages 2, 4, 16 and 18).  My two oldest are boys and the younger two are girls.  My girls get me up at 5AM, so I get up and shower at 4:30AM and then my day starts.  I work 40 plus hours a week and when I get home, it is time to care for them, cook, baths, etc.  I can't really work out while they are up because they won't leave me alone and my hubby is only so good at watching them.  I put them to bed at 7:30  or 8PM and if there is any energy left, I work out.

Hello!  This may sound odd, but I started Slim Fast and then someone told me it was unhealthy - was I looking for an excuse to fall off the wagon?  And, I stopped.  How ridiculous.  I checked with the Slim Fast dietician and she said I am fine.  I work from home and am in front of the computer all day - sitting.  CostCo is having a great sale online right now for this spiffy pedometer that records your steps even if you leave it in your pocket!  I ordered one and it is coming now my hubby wants one so I am going back on line to order him one.

By the way some poster on here said to go over to some website spark something - for me that was a big mistake!  Nothing but ads and so much junk mail coming in my e-amil box now I am labeling it all spam.  I think we can make it together on here.  And, let's don't forget - Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!

So, friends, I will go back on Slim Fast tomorrow and walk this flab off!

I'm 20, and I've been doing slim fast for 5 weeks today. I don't have a baby, but I gained about  20-30 pounds from what I like to think of as a combination of college + living with boyfriend. lol. I was already overweight to begin with. I started at 185 and was 171 today on my weekly weigh in, so I have lost 14 pounds so far.

As far as exercise goes, someone wanted some advice on what to do-there are a LOT of work out videos, you can find some at wal mart or you can go to amazon.com to find just about anything you would want. I can't afford a gym membership or to get equipment in my apartment so the video is a nice alternative you can do any time you want right in your house. I get the dance ones because it's a fun way to do cardio, it doesn't seem like as much work. I've found Turbo Jam Cardio Party helps A LOT. I saw the weight slipping off faster once I got that video. It is about 45 minutes of cardio. I have a bit of a belly bulge too, so I also bought a Pilates video and I do the 10 minute solutions pilates for abs, and I switch every night I work out between the 10 minute solutions for toning arms and legs and butt.

Whatever you guys choose to do is completely up to you, but I beg you not to reward yourself by getting a tanning membership. Tanning is HORRIBLE for your skin, and causes  skin cancer quite easily. You don't want to lose all that weight and get healthy just to cause other health problems for yourself. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be discouraging, I just did a lot of research over  tanning for a college class and it's awful for you, definitely not worth it. Not to mention if you don't get skin cancer from it, your skin will look leathery regardless. It might look nice now, but the consequences don't come until later. Please please reward yourself some other way-there's nothing wrong with being pale, I actually think it's pretty. Buy some new clothes, try a new haircut/color, splurge on some nice make up or perfume, or treat yourself to a gadget you've wanted for a while. Just please reconsider the tanning membership.

Lol i know it's tough with a crawler, mine's a walker now lol! And let me tell you walkin' is worse...ne ways, I had finals again tday so no workin' out and i cheated massively on the diet still 170.  Starting in January I signed up for an aerobics class, kickboxing class, racquetball, and yoga.  Plus from 7am-8am I'm going to go to the rec to work out.  Starting Thursday Finals are out of the way and I can focus on myself, and until classes start I'm doing 1hr walks on the treadmill a day and really going to start dieting.  I'm proud of you guys that worked out I'd reply seperately but I'm short on time cuz I have another set of finals tomorrow...ewww...Good luck tomorrow if you guys work out! Oooohh and the person who was askin' about work outs, walk away the pounds with leslie sansone is an easy cardio work out that will help you get into it.  Other than that I would just do the elliptical machine or bike to get your cardio in.  Pilates is also fantastic.  Or do like me and sign up for a class so you're forced to do it on a regular basis and at a higher level than you would push yourself!  Good luck everyone Thanks for the support keep in touch!!!!!!!!!!!!

Luv ya all

~Dani

I actually worked out this evening...almost 40 minutes of cardio--30 minutes on the elliptical and 10 minutes of vacuuming (which I vote totally counts as cardio).  Yay for me.  Today was a good day.  I usually get REALLY hungry by the afternoon and get terrible headaches.  I didn't struggle with either today!!  I can see those 50 pounds just melting away already!

I'm at 170 flat today! I worked out at 6:30 but I only did pilates (it's finals week, I've been studying all nighters) I plan once I hit 150 to do the tanning membership, 140 to get my hair professionally done, and at the 130 zone to get myself a bunch of skinny clothes! My son's name is Alexander.  Measurement wise I'm waist 33inches, thigh 23 inches, and butt 42.5inches. I've lost 7 inches total since 2 weeks ago.  Definitely get that work-out in!!! You can do it!!!

When my alarm clock went off at 4:30 this morning, I shut it off and went back to sleep.  I don't know how I'm going to get motivated to get up early.  Did you work out this morning?  I am going to try to do it tonight before bed, then try again in the morning.  I started this morning at 181.  I'd like to be at 135.  I'm going to measure when I get home.  What do you guys "reward" yourself with?  I'd like to reward myself with a tanning bed membership if I work out 5x/week for a month...  What are your babies' names?  Madilyn is a huge motivation for me to get healthy---I never want her to struggle with weight like I do.  I never want her to feel trapped by food and fat-ness.

I usually measure my waist, thigh, and butt.  The BIG three haha. I've noticed I've lost a few inches but the scale ain't budging so it's keeping me semi-motivated lol!
