I have recently tried to diet and have found what happens is that I will start the day well. I will have a shake and a piece of fruit. I will have a snack, light lunch. By the late afternoon, I am ravenous...really hungry. That's when I cave in and eat. I am not craving bad things just really hungry. How do I stave this off. I have lost weight before and I know it takes a little adjustment period (week-two weeks?) I was thinking drink, drink, drink water, have some fiber (metamucil?) but it doesnt seem to stick. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thanks

hhhmmm, sorry, not sure what happened. . . . when u say late afternoon, is it after you've already eaten dinner? Have u tried eating a "bigger" snack after lunch?

Try eating fruit or veggies either with dip or without. They are very low in cals and good for you. Plus they are very filling. Either add them to your lunch or eat them with your afternoon snack. Are you drinking enough water? That will help you feel full and if not try milk. Just a few suggestions that help me when I want something light and filling.

Jilldai,

It sounds as though you may not be eating enough earlier on in the day.  Based on your current weight, you are allotted a certain number of fruits, vegetables, and/or 120-calorie snacks.  If you are unsure of how many snacks you are allotted, either respond to this posting or call us at 1-800-SLIMFAST (754-6327).  It is important to spread these snacks out evenly throughout the day, which can help prevent hunger and overeating later on.  Also, make sure that you are having your breakfast within an hour of waking up, and that you then eat every 2-3 hours from there.  And, as you mentioned, drink lots of water (eight 8-ounce glasses).

Sincerely,
