Hi...my name is Amanda.  I have used slimfast before but have never really stuck with it for a long period of time.  So here it goes.  I am 24 years old and have between 40-50 pounds to lose.  I am tired of being tired and unmotivated all the time.  I am finishing up my degree program (will graduate this spring) and have an awesome boyfriend and friends that are extremely supportive....they just aren't motivating me!  So...instead of trying to do it all on my own once again, I decided to repond to one of these......anyone want to buddy up?

I like to workout- I just need the motivation! I have a 9 month old baby and it makes it hard not to procrasinate! HELP!

I am a 28 year old father of two beautiful little girls and this is my second day on the Slim Fast program.  About two years ago I lost over fifty pounds but I still need to lose about thirty to forty pounds to get down to a healthy weight.  My wife always tells me that I look fine the way that I am and I am pretty comfortable with the body that I have but I would love to look in the mirror and see the body that I want.  It's really nice to get on these forums and read so many familiar stories.  Good luck to everyone on your respective weight loss odysseys.

 Hello all,

I'm a 27 year old single mom.  I got out of a bad marriage about a year ago which had my self esteem at it's lowest point.  I'm now with someone who loves me just the way i am, so that's helped my self esteem quite a bit, but i'm still not entirely happy with how I look.

Since my split this past year i've lost about 15 pounds kind of on my own, without dieting too much, but i still have a way to go.  I'm 5'3" and currently 188 lbs and a size 14.  I don't aspire to be a size 2 cause it just wouldn't be realistic for my body type, but when i got married i was 145 lbs and around a size 8 and i was very comfortable there.  So i guess that's my goal.

I don't like complicated diets that involve too much time, money and excessive cooking, so i thought slimfast  could be a good fit for me.  I'm planning to do the shopping this weekend and start the diet on monday.

I'd be very happy to be buddies with any of you.  It seems like we all have a few things in common :)

 hey,

we sound like we have alot in common and i think we would make good buddies. i am 28 and also completing my masters degree. i have been chubby all my life pretty much except a few years ago when i had used slim fast before and got down to a comfortable weight for me (which was around 160).

Unfortunately in the last year I dealt with three deaths (mom, dad, and fiance) and I put back on ALL the weight. My dad passed away from emphysema and my mom from lung cancer so one thing I have already done is quit smoking, which is good but right now I weigh 212lbs. None of my clothes fit and I hate looking in the mirror.

Anyway It has been a struggle to get myself back and now i feel that I am ready to really commit to this again. I'm tired of hiding from the world and feeling bad. With the death of my parents I have adopted my mentally challenged sister and in order for me to really be there for her I have to get myself happy and confident again. :)

What is your greatest challenge?

Hello I am 26 and will maybe start this next Friday (nov. 14).  My goal is to lose about 50 lbs.  I have first relationship ever (not offical but it is someone in my life) and that has given me a lil motivation also.  My biggest thing is money.  Money is really tight for me but I am hoping to figure out something.  I really want to lose the weight to feel better about myself and around my special other one.  I am going to the local gym to see about a membership.  Good Luck to all!!

I'm a 23 year old Momma to a 3 year old little guy. I work full-time for a jeweler, and that is a very demanding job as well! Not to mention I go to school, and my fiance and I are in excrow (closing on Oct 31st) buying our first home. So! Needless to say I am busy! I'm 5'4 and currently weigh 131 lbs. When I was pregnant with my son I gained 48lbs, the first 40 literally melted off within weeks of giving birth. But I've been struggling ever since to get back down to my pre-pregnancy weight of 120lbs. I'd like to lose 12 pounds, and be able to maintain it without having to starve or completely deprive myself of some of my favorite foods in life. I have drank slimfast for breakfast since I was 17, but I've never really gotten into the plan itself. Now I'm 3 weeks from my birthday and I am hell-bent on losing my weight, or at least some of it for my birthday. Tomorrow is my first day on the band-wagon, and I'm hoping it works well for me.

HI!
I'm Laura; I'm new to the site and just started my real slim fast diet today! I’ve been flirting with having a shake in the morning but chowing down the rest of the day. But today starts the real diet. Anyways, I’m 26, and had lost 50 pounds last year on my own. In a not so health way of 700 calories a day and 4 hour on an elliptical a day. For 4 months. Tired mentally and psychically I stopped in the process got into a bad relationship with a verbal abusive guy who told me that whoop-te-doo "you lost 50 pounds before we started dating you're still fat at 171 pounds!" I was confident in myself. I knew I still had 30ish pounds left but I thought I was looking pretty darn good. Even thou. It wasn't health. I stayed in the relationship and stopped my diet and exercise. I gained 10 pounds in a month the man said "whoa, you gained 10 pounds, you’re just to fat for me and you're never gonna be skinny enough for me ever!" Thank gawd he did me the favor of breaking up with me. I beat myself up so much for so long after it was over. But instead of trying to be health and lose the weight the right way I got more depressed and became less health all around. Even thou. I was clearing up all the negative people and things in my life I would get frustrated and emotionally eat and 8 months later I gained 65 pounds. A big beautiful 236.
Sorry that this is a huge life novel but I want everyone to get a better understanding.
I have 100 pounds that I have to lose. It's going to be a struggle. I'm doing it the health way, and with the holiday's coming around. Even worse! But, I’m here to listen and up lift anyone. You got a friend in me!! SO anyone looking for a buddy or an encouragement partner here I am. The quote that lifts my day: “A journey of a thousand miles begins with one single step!"

I would love support from anyone.  I am 26 and this is the most I've ever weighed.  I have been stuck at 163 for months.  I am a size 8 used to being a size 3.  My  husband and I both work full times and go to school full time, so there is never time for a "healthy" meal, just what we get on the go.  I'm on day three and have lost 4 pounds.  Let's all get those pounds off.

Hello, I am 25 years old and have been in denial for about 3 years. I had always been very thin -- until i hit 22....then my weight started to increase. I had spinal surgery in March of this year and that was my biggest downfall. I had to be fairly immobile for about 6 weeks...that slowed my metabolism even further. For those of you that may have been on Slim Fast before -- what is the average cost per week?? I am starting this Monday -- hoping to loose 40 lbs by my birthday ...March 22! Best of luck to all!
