A little intimated and really looking for some advice and words of encouragment. The weight I want to be seems like its miles away. Looking to lose about 50lbs after a long and complicated pregnancy. Any advice for a desperate new mom feeling pretty low?
First of all don't be down on yourself, and set small goals. Start with say 5 or 10 pounds, and go from there. You have to set small managable goals and aim towards the big long term goal. Don't forget that it's not just about a "diet' but a life style. You can do it. Enjoy your new bundle of joy and don't beat yourself up. With my first son I beat my self up so much I became very depressed. Remember your son/daughter loves you for who you are, and so does your husband. If you need someone to talk to you can e-mail me off list at space248@cox.net; make sure you put slimfast in the subject the first time. You can do it, just stay focused. I have about 100 lbs to loose and consetly feel like I'm never going to make it, but I have slowly lost about 25 pounds since our second son in May. It will come off, just be patient. Remember you have to eat, don't deprive yourself and drink lots of water. You can add in Crystal Light for something different!
Best of luck and let me know if I can help in any way.
Oh my gosh, I have so many family members & good friends reminding me that I'm a good mom but I still feel unacceptable. Just keep realistic - 10 lb goals at a time and you can do it. Also, sign up with sparkpeople.com. there is so much motivation there to help you out. Having a new one at home is so hard and I totally consider what you are going thru with the weight not going away. aim small -maybe even 5 lbs. at a time and reward yourself each goal. Much luck to you!! Luv, Kim
