Hi there!  How did your yard working workout go?  We have a nice yard, but we live in a newer subdivision and there just aren't many trees yet!  PLus I have a bad back, so raking leaves is out of the question for me.  I know my boys would love to play in them though!  :)  I know what you mean about going out with the kids.  You have to really plan where you're going to go and what you're going to do afterwards.  frustrating.  Guess that's part of being a parent though! :)  I'm hoping to lose another 2 lbs this week and then next week, too, putting me at 151 by Thanksgiving, leaving me 6 lbs to lose by Christmas.  I hope I can do it!  Great job losing the weight from the previous week!  Again, way to keep your positive attitude!

Well, I haven't had much time to write and I don't have much time now either.  Sometimes I Just wish I could take  a day off (but as stay at home mom's, we just can't do that!).  Have a great day Shaina!!! -Jillian

haha! I know what you mean about the day off  :)   When my husband took a week off from work in August to just stay home and "relax", I made sure I had a list of things for him to do every day. He was like, "Staying home is more work than being at WORK!!"  I told him, "Yeah, that's how I feel about it too!"   :)    I know that was probably really MEAN, but hey, if I don't get a break, why should I make sure he gets one?  Besides, all that stuff really did need to be done   :)

The leaves are deeper than I thought they were!!  I barely cleared a 10 foot area all across the front of the house!!  And forget about touching the backyard!  The hardest part was getting the huge piles from where they were to where I wanted them to be (so my hubby could burn them).  I think I need a bigger rake   :)    Of course, I didn't get to stay outside as long as I had hoped.  We're going to go outside and work on it some more today though   :)    I'm going to line the walkway with luminaries for my Christmas party, so I HAVE to get those leaves outta the way.

Well, I know you're busy. You are doing a great job! Keep up the good work girl!  I got down into the 140's last week!!  I forgot to weigh this morning, but I'll post my progress later.  You have a great day, too; have fun playing with those boys!   :)    ~Shaina

That's wonderful about the 140's!!!  Great job!  I have not been doing too well.  I've been eating very badly (getting into old habits) and just not feeling good about myself (causing me to eat more)...it's frustrating.  I just have to keep telling myself I can eat better no matter what I've already ate today!  Just eat better the rest of the day and don't give up.  I'm not looking forward to weighing myself tomorrow, but we'll see.

You have an annual Christmas party?  That sounds like fun!  Good luck on those leaves, you can do it!

Have a great rest of the day and play dress up with the girls (I never get that chance! hee hee)  -Jillian

Hey girl!  I NEVER get the chance to play dress up either. You'd think my kids were boys the way they LOVE to be naked!  lol   Even if I get them dressed in the mornings, they still end up in diapers/Pull Ups by lunch time!  Even the baby can take her clothes off   lol   And they get naked anywhere they feel comfortable, like my parents' house or my mother-in-laws   :)   "I want naked" is a phrase I hear WAY too often   :)   lol

Have you been writing what you eat down?  Sometimes it helps me.  (Of course there are days when I just don't care what the total ends up being!)   :)   You have the right idea though: Just don't give up!   :)    One thing I did was get a big Rubbermaid thing for the bottom shelf of the pantry, and I put all the cookies and pretzels and stuff in there.  Almost all of the snacks are either in there, or on the very top shelf (which I have to stand on my tip-toes to get a good look at   lol )  So when I look in the pantry, I see stuff like raisins, canned veggies, pasta, etc....  It helps to not have junk food staring me in the face all the time   :)

I haven't had an "annual" Christmas party, like in the past, but I would definitely like for this year to be the start of a tradition   :)   Hopefully it will turn out really well and everyone will WANT to do it every year   :)   Our last place was just TOO small to host guests or have several kids running all around.  I'm really planning stuff out though; I want it to be fun for everybody and really pretty.  I found a lot of cute stuff at the Dollar Tree (where everything is just $1)   lol   I found some great big plastic snowflakes that I can hang from the ceiling and plastic theme dinnerware, invites, even a snowflake serving platter!  (I don't really mind using "chep" stuff since it's technically for the kids, and besides I'll end up tossing most of the stuff after the party anyway, so in this case, cheap = GOOD  )   lol   Plus they have toys and stuff, so I can get some of the "prizes" for the games there.  I also got several little snowmen and snowwomen to use in a centerpiece   :)    I really like going there for holiday stuff that I know I'm probably not going to store and keep, because I don't feel bad about getting rid of it   :)   And this way, I can do something different every year.

Anyway....  what are your boys asking for this year for Christmas?  I have to buy for my nephews too, and I hate how my husband always takes charge when it comes to their stuff.  Last year, he bought the older boy (he was 4) a huge ugly remote control tarantula!  (He liked it, but he was also scared to touch it!!)   :)   lol

Hey, try not to worry about your weigh-in.  It might be a LOT better than what you think it will be   :)   And, even if it isn't what you want to see, you can just use that as a motivation for next week!    Talk to you later!   ~Shaina

Oh, you are too funny!  "naked time!!!"  ha ha... my boys just run away as fast as they can once they are naked for bath time to try and get in as much naked time as possible!  But otherwise, they don't take their clothes off.  Your Christmas party sounds like so much fun!  And it seems like youa re having a GREAT time planning it!

Well, my oldest is asking for a lot.  We recently purchased a Wii, so he's asking for a Wii game and lots of toys.  He likes Thomas the train, and he already has some tracks and some of the trains, so he is asking for a few more trains, some cars, lots of boy stuff.  My youngest is too young to know what he wants, but he loves to play with cars and the Little People stuff.

I was surprised at  my weighin!  I lost another lb!  So, that's 3 lbs down!  I know I could've lost more in 2 weeks if I tried harder, but I am trying to relish in the fact tat I have lost 3 lbs!  So, I am 154 now!  How was your weigh in?  Hope you had a wonderful weekend! -Jillian

Hey Shaina, Lee and Jrvanleer :D How u girls doing!?

Time to catch up I guess! lol Well school is almost over!!! I am very exicted!!  2 more weeks!!! (still 2 huge papers to do but hell! Im hanging on!) I've lost 4 pounds since last time i posted here :D Yeyyy! Now I'm down to 158lbs and hopefully will lose at least 5 more by x-mass.  Probably is because of school but i've found myself eating chocolate a lot lately. While I'm at work i'm good... I dont even look at it.. but when i get home I've been compulsively eating 1-3 pieces almost everyday... I do watch my calories and try not go over but still... is not just the calories, but the sugar, the carbs and all that. So i've decided to give away the chocolates i had home so now there's no more temptations! and i'll go back to reawarding myself once a week instead of every other day lol.

Also i need to change my rutine.. I feel like taebo is not doing the trick anymore! :( now im doing some arms, legs, buns, abs workouts i've found in the internet. I'm alternating workouts. If "no pain, no gain" is true, taebo is definitely not working for me anymore. lol

I feel much better now then i was 14 pounds heavier lol clothes are fitting much better and people keep the compliments coming which motivates me a lot. And the fact there's a fiance who can't wait to see me motivates me even more!!! lol

How are u girls doing!? How was ur thanksgivin? Did anyone went shopping on black friday?

I did very good on thanksgivin day!... I had to work, so i had regular meals during the day and a salad for dinner. Since my family got together at my aunt's house, i didn't make it so I ended up having potatoe salad and turkey *** for lunch next day. :D No desserts, no over eating, no temptations! ... I went shopping on black friday afternoon. I just walked in and out of stores, the lines were verrryyy long and I didn't think it was worth it!. I got me a jacket i found 50% off at Old navy, but that was it. As soon as I exit the store, i headed home!

Talk to u soon girls!! My nightmare is almost over!! lol or should I say, school is almost over... lol

Hi ladies!  Well, my Thanksgiving proved to be a bit of a challenge.  My husband and I have huge families and we had, get this, 5 meals throughout the weekend!  I did well, and only gained around 1 lb, however I have been sick all this week and don't think I'm doing so well!  I will not be weighing myself in this week, but next week look forward to getting back on track and losing some more weight!

I went shopping a little bit the day after Thanksgiving, not until about 10 am though.  I'm not brave enough to go out into those crowds!

I am having a hard time keeping myself motivated.  I'm not sure what my problem is, but it's frustrating.  I will get all excited and say "today, I am going to eat well, exercise and take care of myself, becasue I deserve it!" but then half way through the day I mess up and eat a lot of whatever.  I think I have some issues.  Does anyone else have this problem?  What do you do to overcome it?

Take care ladies and have a fabulous weekend!

Hey Lucy Luz!  :)   I tried to write you back a few days ago, but for some reason my post didn't POST, and I didn't have time to re-do it right then. (it was LONG   lol)

I gained a little during Thanksgiving, but it's all gone now though. I'm still stuck at 148 though!!  :(   I keep hovering between 152 and 148!  It is frustrating, but I pulled out my measuring tape to see if maybe I was doing better in that area, and in the last month and a half, although I've only lost five pounds, I've lost nearly 8 inches, including one inch from my neck (!) an inch from my waist, an inch from my big belly, and an inch from my chest (the part under my armpits).  I also went from a 36 bra band size to a 34!!!  YAY!!  My legs and arms also got a little smaller!!  ~~All that from only five pounds of fat lost!!~~     So that lifted my spirits a LOT.

Jillian, I'm sorry to hear you're having a hard time   :(   Is there something specific that "causes" you to mess up? I used to ALWAYS finish my kids' snacks. And my #1 weakness is sweet cake-like things, like CAKE  lol  or donuts or honeybuns. Even cookies like fudge rounds or oatmeal creme pies can mess me up BAD.  So.... I just don't buy that stuff anymore, unless someone is about to have the occasional meltdown at the store. The kids usually pick ONE snack item they REALLY want, and if one of my vices happens to be the pick of the day, I just have to try really hard to cheat reasonably   LOL   But usually I can make them happy with goldfish crackers or raisins these days   :)

But if it's not just something specific you're wanting, like if you're just REALLY hungry, maybe you aren't "allowing" yourself enough calories. When I first started trying to diet, I tried to go from having however-many thousands of calories per day to only 1500.  And I felt like I was STARVING so I'd eat, then I felt like a failure for not "sticking" to my diet. I'm not sure how many calories you need or how many you usually eat, but maybe restricting yourself to a higher amount for a few weeks would help. Like, when I raised my limit to 1800 per day (which was still a "diet" but was more reasonable for me starting out) I was able to do that just fine. (Most days!)   :)    And then it was easier to gradually step it down by 50 or 100, til I worked my way down to having only 1200-1400 calories per day now, depending on what kind of work-out I do.

I don't know if any of that will help you with your situation though, but it's just some of what I've been through over the past year   :)   I'm here if you want to talk it about some more or just vent though   :)

Talk to you girls later   :)        ~Shaina

Hey Luz!  I don't post on here much anymore. Sounds like you've been having a stressful time with papers! Ugh!!!  How many days until you see your fiance?  You lovebirds are going to have the BEST time together! :) I think this last year will FLY by for you and then you'll be getting married! Aawww!  I thought I had gained back some of my weight, but turns out it was ONLY 2 lbs! I still weigh 169, but started out at 176. I know it's not a lot, but I'm very glad I haven't gained it all back. I'm still not exercising like I should, but I'm going to get serious about that, too! I'm determined to get down to 150. Tonight I ate one of those kiddie ice creams in the cup and it was only 100 cal...then I put a few sprinkles on top. (come to find out they are 20 cal) My daughter loves sprinkles & apparently I do, too! LOL!  Good Luck with your papers and I think you are doing GREAT with your weight loss, especially being under that much stress with exams & papers!  WAY TO GO!!!  :) Chat with ya later!  Leigh

Hi ladies!  LLee, way to go!  It's always frustrating to gain back some of the weight, but you have the right attitude!  I flucuate a couple pounds almost daily it seems...exetremely frustrating.  But, I have decided to only weigh myself once a week!  :)  The ice cream cup idea sounds yummy!

Shaina- I crave sweets, all the time.  I have become a terrible emotional, and tv eater.  I am working on it and trying to make sure that I don't have that kind of stuff in the house and it's working!  Today I was rummaging through the cabinets for something salty and I didn't have any chips or anything, so I just didn't eat any because it wasn't there!  It felt good.  If there would've been chips in that cubbard, I am almost positive I would've eaten some.  I've been working out harder as well.  Here at home and at teh gym, so I believe that is helping.  I'm weighing in tomorrow, so we shall see!  I"m hoping for 153 (last week was 155).  Talk to you ladies later!

Jillian, Way to go girl! That's how I have to do it, too, because if there are Little Debbie cakes in the pantry when I'm looking for a sweet, it's HARD to resist!  LOL   I've gotten to the point now though where Special K is really sweet to me, and I can have a bowl of that with some ice cold milk, and it really satifies that craving. And Leigh told me about the Special K chocolatey delight, which is VERY good and sweet, and not too many calories   :)

I woke up early this morning (about 5:45 when I'm used to about 8) and I felt too tired this afternoon to go back-and-forth with my husband over me going to the gym. (He hasn't been feeling very well and didn't want to watch the kids!!)  So when I mentioned I was about to get ready to go to the gym and he said "Why don't you just play your Fit and go tomorrow??"  I gave in TOO easily   :)   Really it was supposed to my night to run (I'm still working my way up to that 5K) and I really had planned on doing it all day   :(   So I feel kinda like I let myself down a little.  But it's ok; I'll just do as he suggested and do my exercises at home tonight, and go to the gym tomorrow. I have to be flexible like that   :)

Speaking of "flexible" is anyone else working on flexibility? I've been ignoring it, and not even stretching after I run  :(   Now, I can't even touch my toes! It feels like I'm going to tear something in the backs of my legs if I even TRY....  So now I have to work on that every day, too.

Anyway, Jillian, you're doing GREAT so I'm sure you'll see a loss on the scale this week!  :)    Breaking the 150s was a nice feeling and a HUGE accomplishment for me. I nearly CRIED, because for some reason I had this picture in my head that the heavier side above 150 was SOOOO much bigger than the smaller side of 150   :)   Actually, that was all in my head, cuz 149 doesn't look much smaller than 151, but still, it felt good   :)      I think I'm going to lose some weight this week too!!  We should all have some good news to report in a few days!   :)    Talk to y'all later!

Hey Jillian, Luz, & Shaina!  Ok, I messed up this week with my eating. I'll just start OVER tomorrow. Hubby's Bday was Sun, so we've been eating cake, cupcakes, & gingerbread cookies. I fell off the wagon BAD! I wouldn't dare get on a scale within the next 2 days! :)

Jillian for the sweet cravings I eat fat-free chocolate pudding, 100 cal snacks, rice cakes, OR yogurt. The chocolate rice cakes taste much better than I expected! For the salty cravings I eat those "mini" bags of PopSmart, bc they are only 100 cal! In the past I would measure out my chips in a ziploc bag and when the bag was empty that was IT!  Lately I haven't been doing that....hence the weight gain. When I feel "extra" hungry, I eat instant oatmeal, bc it seems to "stick" with me!  OR drink a bottled water and then eat my snack. That's "awesome" about you working out harder.....GOOD JOB! That's my biggest problem right now....not exercising! Once I get my motivation back, I'll start getting the lbs off! I used to walk 5 days a week, but lately I've been lazy! I'm trying to finish up Christmas shopping, but I find any excuse not to do it! LOL!  What exercises are you doing at home? We just got the Wii System, so hopefully in a few months, we'll get the Wii Fit. We can't spend the extra $ on that right now with Santa & gifts. I think I'm almost addicted to the Tennis game. I played it well over an hour tonight...my arm is sore! LOL!

Y'all have a GREAT day!  Talk with ya later!    Leigh  :)
