Hi there Barbie~~So glad I finally got back on Slim Fast again.  I had been using the site ever since 2005, and like you, also lost my buddies.  Thank goodness  a couple of them exchanged E-mail addresses so we are still able to keep in touch. You really had an achievement...going from 228 to 188!! That is fantastic!!  I weigh 210 now...the most I have ever weighed in my life! I am getting back on the Slim Fast plan tomorrow.  I was doing so good and then the site closed down.  Now I need some motivation to get going again! I also use to exercise daily (mostly with exercise videos) and had gotten up to over a hundred workouts when I discovered last Fall that I had colon cancer.  Had surgery last October, and thankfully everything is ok now and did not have to have any follow-up treatments.  I was very lucky that it was caught early.  Anyway that set me back for awhile and now I am so ready to get going again. Hope to hear from some fellow Slim Fasters out there.

Luck to all of us!

Hugs.....Kay (Brandywine)

Wow! It's good to hear someone finding success...I'm going to start the program next week...I'm 226 right now and hope this will be the beginning of a new me...so is your motivation and physical activity like? I start off really well and then fall back into my same bad habits when work gets in the way. I'm hoping since I have the summer off I will implement good habits and these habits will follow me back to work...what are your thoughts? Thanks!

 Good Morning Kimberlie !

It was a new beginning for me for sure, and to tell ya the truth, I honestly did not know if I was gonna stick with it or not...But, I did....and finally it's all starting to payoff thank goodness....My Motivation is I took a few pics that a friend of mine had taken at a new place they showed me to hike at as part of my weekly excercise routine, she took several, some standing some sitting....I have all of those hanging on my mirrors in my workout room...that gets me going...When one of my boys calls me mommma..over the phone(my youngest is 21), that kick starts me all over again, I had a heart attack in 2003, My real father died at 38,I was 1 month shy of turning 38 when mine happened, I suffered no damage to the heart muscle as I was actually at the er when it happened. That in itself you would think would be enough....but it wasnt...after getting over the initial fear of having another...I went on as tho it never happened....and here I am in 2008 weighing 228,and I was shocked when I found a pic of me and a friend at an Angels game, which I will soon be posting. that did it for me.

I guess my main motivation is the fact that I know it's not gonna happen if I Myself do nothing....I HAVE to want to be healthy, look good and feel good, I know I'm only 42 and have 3 grandkids, but i truly want to have enough energy to keep up with them boys..and to look good again doing it, I'm finally turning heads again Kimberle...and girlfriend, at 42, that feels pretty damn good...lol

So I hope this helps, I do 30 minutes of Cardio everyday..this is a must sweetie, if for nothing else, think of your heart not the pounds...I do the bike, walk hike whatever you can do to fit 30 of cardio in is fantastic...keep it small at first, dont jump in and try to do a whole bunch of stuff, you will burn in a week...here is my personal email if you need to reach me when I may not be at the slim site..

I will do whatever I can my friend to help you...also, look under the staying motivated forum and start posting under my 40lbs and counting there..we got chastized for posting here last week..lol

Best regards my friend..

Hi Barbie~~Sorry I haven't written back sooner.  I really prefer the old Slim Fast site and buddy system better than this new thing, but oh well....it's better than not having a SF site at all, huh?  Sure does take some getting used to tho.  Hope you have been doing good.  I have done really well and doing my exercise tapes or DVD's every day.  I have done Leslie Sansone's 4 Mile walking tapes for the last few days but I always rotate my tapes.  I have over 40 tapes and DVD's and love them all!!  My favorites are the Leslie Sansone ones and the ones by Debbie Rocker, Ellen Barrett (just ordered her two new walking DVD's from the Belly Fast Diet), and also like the two George Foreman Walking tapes I have too.  With the hot weather we are all experiencing right now the in-home exercise videos are perfect for me. Altho I do use the Slim Fast Shakes I am not on any particular diet, just logging everything I eat in my Food Diary and making healthy choices.  Both my daughter and daughter-in-law have lost weight like this.  My daughter just lost over 30 lbs.  I think I do better if I don't have to count, weigh, or measure anything.  Just use common sense!  Most of us know what is best for us and we are all "diet experts'.....we know what to eat.  My daughter-in-law is now a size 2.....(but she was never very big to start with)  As for me, I have no desire to be a size 2, but just to get within a normal range for my height (I'm 5'2") so I would like to be 128 lbs. but if I ever get to 135 I will be happy! Lol!!   By the way, I will be turning 68 years old next month (Sept. 30th) so I am grateful that I am able to exercise at all!! Lol!!  It's not easy getting older, but the more you sit the harder it will become to get around.  I am certain if I had not done the 100 workouts I did before having Colon Cancer surgery last October I would never have been able to get up and walk like I did during my 12-day hospital stay.  The Doctors and Nurses were amazed that I got around that good after having major surgery.  I told them I owed it all to the Good Lord above and also my exercise videos.  Thankfully I didn't have to have any follow-up treatments and am doing fine so far.  So I owe a lot to being strong when I went in the hospital and I am so glad I did all those exercises!!

I don't know how hot it is where you are,but here in Southwest Georgia it has really been a scorcher!!  Hit around 100 both yesterday and today too.  (Another good reason to have the Exercise tapes..as it's just so hot to get outside now!)  Once it turns cooler tho I will be walking outside again also.  We live in the country and walk all the way around a field behind our home, which takes about 45 minutes or so, depending on how fast you walk.

Well, that's about it for now.  Hope to hear from you or other SF buddies soon!  Take care.

Hugs.........Kay (Brandywine)

 Hi Lizza67,

I just started the program yesterday.  It is tuff being the compulsive eater that I am.  I weighed 246 yesterday morning, today the scales says 241....hmmmm     It has been 10 years since my scale dropped under 200 and I am determined to get there this time.  I did lots of exercising yesterday and only deviated from the plan with 3 tortia chips, 3 bites of seasoned beef with melted cheddar and two fist fulls of light popcorn.  So if ya want to keep in touch let me know.  Shelby4263

Hey Shelby - you did great!!  I can't believe 5 lbs already - thats awesome!!  Your deviation yesterday doesn't sound bad at all so keep up the good work!!  I'm a complulsive eater also when stress comes which is often now with an 18 month old & a wild 3 1/2 year old boy.  The slimfast products really do curb the appetite but working on the emotional issues connected with eating is another challenge on its own!!  Good luck Shelby!!  Kim
