Shaina,
You shouldn't beat yourself up over one "slip." I slipped the other day (kinda down a slippery slope) and then I picked myself up and instead of beating myself up and thinking all hope was lost I told myself, "Brittany, you made some poor choices, but they're over, just keep moving forward." And exercising can help relieve some of the guilt pangs. I think you're doing great!
Ok, Love chocolate. I work in senior housing and my seniors love giving me boxed assorted chocolate!!! so sometimes I chew and suck out the flavors and toss it out. Gross huh, but it works. My doctor told me when someone gives me chocolate or flan or cheesecake .... to "give it to someone you hate". His exact words! I cracked up because he is a very peaceful Korean man, (actually he's a psychiatrist because I've been dealing with some nasty anxiety) who has these wonderful zen thoughts all over his office!! For me it's out of sight, out of mind-if I don't have it around I'm ok. When I really crave, I'll run to quik-chek for a small chocolate bar and EAT it! What I do love that is healthy is a granny smith apple, sliced with peanut butter. Tastes like a caramel apple. Needs to be granny smith though - yum.
Weight Watchers also has some great deserts. They have a chocolate one, and a strawberry shortcake. Also, try feezing grapes, they are wonderful. You can also take a cake mix and add 1 can of diet soda, nothing else. Be creative. There are also some great cookbooks. They are So Fat, No Fat, Low Fat, by Betty Rhodes. She lost a lot of weight by just watching her fat grams, and she tells you her weekness is sweets. She now has a book on just deserts too, I have the original and it's pretty good. Check out Amazon.com.
Good luck with everything and remember when craving something give it a couple of days and if you still want it go for it. Try drinking a full glass of water before you eat it and then you will be fuller.
just an idea, since i get kind of embarassed to be seen eating slim-fast, i just take the slimfast bar out of the wrapper and put it into a small zip lock bag...lol
I know that GUILT FEELING, the one that nags at you because your trying so hard to be good, but that little voice says ...eat me...eat me...and you realize its coming from the candy bowl or the cabinets lol. Of course if you do not listen to this voice it gets louder lmao. My advice, which actually came from my boyfriend is have two cheating days that allow you to add something yummy like ten jelly beans lol.
Personally I always found that you do not have to feel guilty as long as an extra ten minute walk will burn off the extra calories you ate.
Just do not feel guilty and then give up. Keep going, it will get better. I believe in you.
Be healthy

TRY PEANUT BUTTER...WHEN I CRAVE A SWEET, I EAT A COUPLE OF TSP OF PEANUT BUTTER.........CRAVING GONE!
You are not alone! My greatest weekness is sweets, too. By the way, I'm new here and this is my first post. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone. Anyway, I'm actually addicted to sweets, it's my heroin! By I'm trying to cut it way down. It's hard because I'm a home health aide and the couple I take care of always buy cakes, cookies, ice cream and pies. I have a few tricks that help me during rough temptation. I sprinkle splenda on sugar free jello and after each bite, I sprinkle the remaining. I get instant "sugar". I also buy sugar free suckers and slowly suck on a few throughout the day. Also I'll buy spearments and peppermints and suck on those. They're 20 calories each but people burn 20 calories an hour just by being alive and walking around, maybe doing a little activity. So I can have one an hour and not worry about it. Also, sometimes I'll buy dark chocolate, which is good for you! I'll just each two squares a day and work in the calories. Hope this helps! Just know that you are not alone in your sweet cravings!
