Your meal plan for today sounds yummy! I'd love to get some of your recipes along with their nutritional content, that is, if you don't mind.

Hello, everyone. Just be sure to read the labels on EVERYTHING - products marked as "healthy heart" usually have high sodium. Also, some products change ingredients from time to time so something you thought was safe can be too high. I also learned the hard way that even fresh products, like raw chicken, can have salt water injected, so you have to read even those items. You can google low salt or low sodium recipes and find alot of good sites for low sodium products and recipes. Good luck! It takes some time to get started but once you do it's not so hard. Also your taste buds will adjust (tell your friend to hang in there) and soon he will be happy to eat foods w/less sodium.

One other thing - eating out is brutal - most foods in America are heavily salted. I go to the websites for restaurants whenever available and look up nutritional info. Then I write down one or two choices from the restaurants I most likely might visit and keep it in my purse. Then when I unexpectedly end up in a restaurant I can eat something that is healthy - low calorie/low sodium and not make a big deal of it in front anyone else.

Well the weather guys were wrong it did not rain here this
weekend. I got some riding in this weekend. This morning was like
winter. The wind chill had to be below zero :-) I left the
house without gloves and on the return trip; I made a stop to get some gloves
before finishing the bike ride. Took my camera along yesterday and got
pictures of some geese. Was trying to
get pictures of some turtles I kept seeing. Yesterday as soon as I pulled
out the camera one of them yelled "It's the Paparazzi" and the three
of them jumped into the water.

I manage to snap some of a mother goose on her nest. I hope that the local Rif raff do not bother
her or the little ones when they hatch.
I posted some picture on my Flickr account.

Well got to get some things done before it gets much later

I use the SF powder mix, French vanilla. I blend it with ice in a mini 1 serving size blender. It tastes just like an ice cream shake and is so filling. It also gives you some of your water allowance.

That brings us to water. Water keeps our metabolism up and helps to fill us up. Drink water when you are hungry and before you eat. I use Propel packets, ½ at a time. You can also use Crystal Light or something like that, but I think the propel tastes better and since I am using ½, I can afford the calories. Stop drinking pop.

Make a statement to yourself by throwing out all the junk in your house. It seems drastic but it really started me off well. I couldn’t go out and buy chips and cookies if I had just tossed them out. My family didn’t like it, but they adjusted. I told them they were free to eat whatever they wanted, but I would not buy it. (They have since lost weight too.)

I eat breakfast instead of dinner. It gives me the energy I need to start my day and to exercise. It helps me not to feel hungry all day. It also helps me to not worry about making and eating dinner. Plus this way food doesn’t sit in your stomach all night and turn to fat. If I know I am going to eat out, that is all I will eat for that day. No breakfast.

Eat your snacks. This was a hard one for me because I get full on the shakes and had a hard time forcing myself to eat when not hungry. Now my body has adjusted to eating the snacks and reminds me to eat them.

Chew sugar free gum. I like Ice Breakers smoothie gum because I can blow bubbles. It

keeps my mouth busy.

Exercise every day. I walk at my mall M-W-F. 2 laps is 1 mile. I struggled with 1 mile in the beginning. Now I am up to 3 miles and pushing that even. I try to ride my recumbent bike for 15 mins on Tu-Th-Sa. I also try to use my wii fit on those days. My goal is 15 mins each on those days to total ½ an hour but I’m not there yet. I also want to get back to water aerobics at the Y but haven’t yet. My dr. says I will lose much faster if I exercise every day no matter what so that is my goal. This would all be so much easier if I had a buddy with me. The mall is free and the Y has scholarships if money is an issue.

So there are my ideas. So far I have lost 23 #s since Jan 1.

I could Not have done any of this without the support and encouragement I find here. These wonderful people have helped me with advice that I passed on to you. They have lifted me when I fall. They have led when I strayed. Even when they aren’t talking directly to me, but aimed at someone else, it helps me.

So my biggest advice… Log On Every Day!!!

I have an adorable 4 month old baby boy and I am bigger than I have ever been in my life. I weighed myself just now and am tipping the scales at 210, quite a load for my 5'3" frame. While pregnant, I got up to about 230 I think it was and now I am ready to get the rest of this off. Long term, I'd like to lose about 80 lbs.

So here, I am, tired of still wearing maternity jeans, tired of still wearing my fiance's shirts, 25 years old and scared of how much it hurts to go up the stairs. I wake up every morning and my feet ache when I take those first steps out of bed. I developed some horrendous eating habits during pregnancy, and those along with hormonal ups and downs and the stress of balancing a baby, my fiance's 5 1/2 year old daughter, working part time and going to school full time have resulted in a gorgeous physique.

This weight is holding me back in every aspect of my life and I am ready to lose it and set a good example for my son!

starting 2moro!!

hi i am 23 married with two girls...i am hoing to get back to my pre

When i first met my husband i was about 133 and now im about 215 give or take so he seen me thin to heavy to heavier and and now heaviest. I used to care what I looked like, but i put my kids and my husband first and did what a mother and a supporting wife does, little by little i lost me, the most important person to care for. As I got bigger people didnt recogonize me anymore even stop talking to me. I for one didnt care I had my family, and thats all that matter to me. But there was always those momments where I wished if i can only loose some weight, but like always it just never happened. I knew I wasnt healthy and someday it would all catch up to me. I started having high blood pressure, had to get my gall bladder removed, and several other proceduries done due to my gall bladder removal. I started getting mad at myself, putting my self down, because I knew that all that was happening to me was somehow connected to my wieght. I just didnt feel like me anymore, and I missed me so much. Im happy that I found this place with people that i can relate to, and understand my feelings on my level. I hoping to get support as well as giving it, because I know that for all of us, this is going to be a long journey!!
