IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING SLIM•FAST® RTD SHAKES IN A CAN
Thank you for your continued patience, support and loyalty through the Slim•Fast ready-to-drink (RTD) shakes in a can recall, which we announced on December 3, 2009. This was a very difficult decision for us to take, but was unquestionably the right one, as consumer safety is and always must be our top priority.
We're pleased to inform you that you may begin to see Slim•Fast RTD
shakes in a can in stores later this month. As detailed below, all
newly produced Slim•Fast RTD shakes in a can will be clearly marked to
help you identify new RTD product from recalled RTD product.
- Individual Slim•Fast RTD shakes in a can: Manufacturing code information on
bottom of cans is now in blue ink instead of black
- Slim•Fast RTD shake club packs:
3” x 3” round, gold metallic sticker on the side of club pack trays,
which reads “Quality is our #1 priority”
- Slim•Fast RTD shake multi-pack cartons:
2” x 2” round, gold metallic sticker on top of cartons, which reads
“Quality is our #1 priority” (see below image)
We ask that you do not purchase Slim•Fast RTD product unless you see one of these marks indicating that it is new production.

Update on Slim•Fast® Voluntary Product Recall
We’d like to thank you for your continued support and loyalty to Slim•Fast. We know you have a choice and we hope you continue to choose Slim•Fast.
You may have heard about our recent voluntary recall of all Slim•Fast ready-to-drink shakes in cans. If you have any questions on the recall announced on December 3, please visit the links below or simply call our representatives Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 6 pm ET at 1-800-SLIMFAST to get more information. We want to assure you that we are doing everything necessary to not only correct this problem as your health and safety are of paramount importance to us. We anticipate being back in stores very soon and when we are, you’ll be the first to know.
In the meantime, you can still follow your Slim•Fast plan with our newly relaunched Snack and Meal Bars and use the Powdered Shake Mixes as a great substitute for your Ready-to-Drink Shakes. These products have not been affected by the recall. Our Powdered Shake Mixes are a great, economical alternative that you make fresh with your choice of fat-free milk (including lactose free or soy milk). You can also mix in other favorites – like berries or fruit – to create your own customized variety.
