  • Hi Jennifer!

I'm also 24, and have been struggling with weight my ENTIRE life. I'm at my biggest now and that is 273. YUCK! I know! But when I met my husband I was at my smallest (169) I know he loves me like crazy and supports me but I feel like I owe it to him to be the me I used to be. Not just in size but in personality too. Gaining a lot of weight can make anyone depressed, un-attractive things along those lines. I think maybe that an improvise with your husband can result in great success. Maybe one night you guys eat something more healthy (for your sake) and then another night eat something he likes (for his) lol the key is to NOT deprive yourself of the foods you enjoy but to cut back and moderate what you take in. Just try to remember to eat your food more often than his, your husband loves you and he understands that you want to lose the weight. He may gripe during dinner about the difference in taste, but he'd rather you be healthy and happy than having a greasy cheesebuger!

    Take care!

  • Hi Jennifer,

My name is Taylor and I would love to be your buddy.  I am 22 and have about 70lbs to lose too! I am at 222 and that is after a month of working out everyday; down from 228.  I definetly overeat and he hardest part is I hardly ever feel full. Plus my fiance can eat and eat and eat and never put on a pound! Unfortunately, since we met almost 7 yrs ago, I have put on a lot of weight and am way ready to get back on track.  I keep trying to convince him to help me out with less sweets and healthier options but its pretty much a no go.  So I could really use some support here too! Let me know if you think we could work well together and maybe we can set up a schedule to check in on each other :).  Either way, GOOD LUCK with your weightloss!

    Taylor

  • Jennifer,

    Where are you from?

I need to get back on track as well.  Would love to be your buddy we have the same amount of weight we need to lose.

  • Hi Jennifer,

When I quit smoking (about 15 years ago) I always had sugarless gum with me, for some reason this really helps with not eatting to often or to much too! Be sure to drink your 8-8oz of water a day, try adding walking to your daily routine (if a Doctor syas it's ok), and us Slim Fast guidelines on portion sizes of the food you do eat. Even if your husband likes "fattening foods" you can eat smaller portions or even different food and I think you will do great! Get one of the free weight loss tickers some of us have at the bottom of our posts, and weigh in once a week, it really helps with motivation! I look forward to you posting your weight loss every week, I know you can do it

  • Hi, My name is Jennifer and I am happily married to my wonderful husband. I recently turned 24 and also realized that I currently weight 218 pounds which is the highest my weight has ever been. I need to lose about 73 pounds to be where I would feel comfortable with my body. My biggest problem is that I over eat, and that I am married to a man who loves his food just the way it is. I can do so well losing weight when he is away for long periods of time (i.e Iraq) but when he is home I just eat like there is no tomorrow.  I have tried changing the ingredients of certain meals to make them more healthier for me and to help me, but my husband knows and can tell that it is different. I also Just quit smoking recently and that is also hard as well. My goal is to get back on track before its too late. I really dont have any friends that are in my shoes that I would be able to talk to about this. So if anyone is here and would like to chat with someone maybe we can motivate each other and achieve our goals..
