    This is my first post.  I'm from the K-Mart Site NDYW.

    Anyway, thanks for this post.  My goal is to get into the next decade of numbers when I weigh myself. That would mean I need to lose 7 lbs to weigh 179.  I would like to reward myself (like some others) date night with hubby and/or new article of clothing.

  • Hello again everyone, just checking in to see how it's going. I have found that reading the forums and posting occasionally helps keep me busy and motivated when I would otherwise be snacking on popcorn. Now popcorn can be healthy and a good snack, but I tend to retain water when my salt intake is too much and I have to have salt on popcorn. Anyway, looks like this reward post is really catching on. That is wonderful I think this will be a great way to stay accountable and see how everyone else is doing. Not to mention some of your reward ideas and even challenges are worth stealing for myself.........lol. My goal is worded weird though, I plan to work out 6days per wk and choose good foods all week long. At the end of a full week accomplishing this I will buy a new workout dvd or workout clothing, etc. But, all the rewards are good. Don't you just love the 80s..lol. My husband is busy tonight and my kids have friends over, that is why I am hanging out with u guys reading the forums to keep me busy. Stay focused everyone and can't wait to see who meets their next goal.

  • I think that is a GREAT reward.  If I may, Marly and Me was an awesom romantic comedy.  We took our kids to see it too, but it is really good.  It made me go back into our memory bank.  I got you down.  I like doing this challenge because it keeps me busy and accountable and you all will dpend on me.  I don't want to let you down.  Also, I don't have any ideas about having to stop at a certain time, I say we do it all we want to.

  • Hope I haven't missed out. My current challenge and reward is to tackle that first 10 pounds that seem to yo-yo no matter the diet the restrictions or the food for me. I will drink 64 oz of water per day and snack healthy only. My reward will be a night out with my husband to my chick flick movie, he is okay with it so far. Thanks for the great new start and a way to see my progress while sharing it with all of you. K

  • Way to go and congrats to you!!!  Soon, we will be celebrating your new shopping spree together.  Let's keep pushing ourselves for the next small step in this battle.  We all know we can do it!  I think I am going to watch an old 80s movie tonight.  The husband is playing poker and the girls are staying with friends, how much fun will this be!!!!

  • hello everyone just checking in to let you know I am sticking to my challenge. I managed to choose good foods so far today and found time for my workout. Hope everyone else is doing good and staying focused. Looking forward to my new workout gear in a few days.

  • ArtGirl, I have you down and think that is a perfect reward.  I had a reward for myself and I reached it today.  It is kind of hokey, but I am excited and want to celebrate with all of you.  I have been gearing up my cardio with Denise Austin Cardio Blast and you can customize your workout, there is warm up, kickboxing, cardio dance, retro aerobics and athletic cardio.  I really wanted to get up to 1 hour of work out on it for my cardio, but just didn't have the endurance.  When I tried it, I was like gumby and my legs stopped working.  Yesterday and today I got all of them in but the athletic part, it is very high impact and i am not quite ready yet.  So, my reward tonight will be to watch a movie (just me) and have some me time.  NOt only did I do it, but I kept up and was able to do all the moves and only took 2 small breaks for some water intake.  I can't wait to get the next reward!!!

  • Adgeralds, What a great idea!  Being the mother of 5 I don't ususlly reward myself w/ much.  But I am somewhat spoiled by my husband and kids occationally.  I think if I work out 3 times next week and go to TaeKwonDo I will ask my kids to give me a shoulder rub and arm/hand massage.  The  little ones get a kick out of that (and so do I)  That way they can encourage me.  I'll write it down & let you know next Friday.

  • Hey. I love the idea of posting our small challenges. I too would like to challenge myself to do my planned workout schedule. I too work at home and am a mother of two so I have to plan my workouts and not miss my window of opportunity to workout for the day. Once I get back into a routine, I actually enjoy working out. Its making the time to do it that I have to work on. I read your profile adgeralds and it sounded sooooo much like myself. I too lost some weight and have gained it back the past few months because I let stresses in my life among other things get me out of my routine. I started putting the weight back on (very quickly) and the cravings I thought were no longer a problem all of a sudden were back with a vengeance!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, I am back on track now and I have to workout everyday and make good food choices everyday to get back where I want to be. That's what I have the hardest time doing. Once I get back in a routine I can keep it up and the cravings go away and it gets easier to stick to. So, if you wuold put me down for completing my workout everday and choosing he right foods everyday. My reward will be a new piece of workout gear or equipment for every week I complete my challenge. Thanks...
