  • Hi my name is Tracy Al-hajiri and I am about 80 pounds overweight.  I havent been able to lose any weight since having my third child. I work at walmart and it is so hard to stay away from junk. I mean how do you eat if you work from 6pm to 3am.  I see my self in the mirror and I am very disgusted with my body. I want to be healthier for my kids and for myself. Any tips?

  • Oh how I can relate.  I am a single mom & I work a full time & a part time job  so I am always tired.  So getting into the gym is a chore in itself most days.  However, my 14 year old & I make a date to go to the gym to work out & he sees to it that we keep that date, as he is getting in shape for track in a few months.  I also quit drinking soda & that helped out alot.  I was drinking about a 12 pack of mountain dew a day!  That's almost 1,000 calories a day just in soda.  I drink 8 bottles of water a day that's twice the recommended amount of eight 8 glasses of water a day. & any no calorie drink counts toward your water intake.  I also keep a food journal of what I eat & drink just to get a good look at how many calories I get a day.

  • Oh rn123, how I can relate!!!! LIfe has gotten in the way. I too am trying to shuffle job, kids, afterschool stuff, house, church so on & so on. Some days I'm so gun ho and ready to work out, then others I have to force myself. I really really want to loose the weight this time and stick to it. Do you do like daily schedules for yourself? How do you do it? Any suggestions?

  • That is what happened to me also. But I gained about 45lbs before I came to the conclusion that is was the meds. They let me think it was my fault I couldn't stop eating and eating and eating........When I got weened off meds, I lost 20lbs in 3 months. Now I'm stuck. And lazy. Ughhhhhhh!!!

I tell my kids all the time "I'm tired of being tired" But I can't get off my freakin lazy butt. I feel like my motivation is getting there, but I just haven't got that jolt yet.

If you'd like to connect on buddy list that would be cool.

  • Our story sounds very similiar! The only difference is that I gained the weight about 3 years ago and haven't been able to lose it. I gained weight right after I started working full time. When I was part time I ran about twenty miles a week and was about 150 lbs too. I need to find a way to work full time, be a mom and take this weight off! I also am tired of being tired. As soon as the kids and I get home we head for the cupboard and eat sweets or chips! I start walking/running for about three weeks and then I quit. I did do a 5k this summer and I lost about ten lbs. That was in July and since then I have put at least 15 on! I am hoping this sight will keep me motivated to accomplish my goal and maintain!

  • I found a photo of myself when I looked like I want to look now and posted that on my frig.  Don't know if that will help you but it is helping me.

  • In the last year, I have gained over 30 lbs.  The gain was a result of some medication I was prescribed last January, but I am now off of it and am finding it sooo hard to slim down.  I was 150 and wearing 10's now I'm pushing 180 and wearing 14's.  I just turned 43 and am an empty-nester and am tired of being tired.

Can anyone share tips and motivational hints to not getting frustrated and losing interest?
