I know you can lose the weight. be encouraged.

  • Jacqui,

I am in the same boat as you.  This is also the umteenth time I have started something trying so desperatly to get the weight off.  Never being really heavy til I began having children ~ it seems almost impossible at times for the weight to come off.  I fail at one diet and start up another.  This is the first time I am trying Slim-Fast (even though I haven't really tried it yet - due to Thanksgiving).  My husband is very supportive but because he don't give a hoot what I look like it doesn't really matter to him if I am on a diet or not.  Well I hope to talk to you soon!

  • Ahhh, Jacqui....you are not alone...everyone on this site is traveling the weight loss journey right beside you.  Do not be ashamed of posting your weight because from now on, those numbers will go downward  and that is a very good feeling!  Everything takes time and hard work...weight loss included...so glad you jumped on the treadmill...that is such a good start.  Now you need to make it a priority every day...I walk to Leslie Sansone dvds and have learned that I feel so much better if I never skip a day of that.  The main thing to do while losing weight is to believe in yourself...you can do this, you have the power to change your life.  Each time you reach for a healthy food, each time you drink your water, each time you exercise...you are showing control...with each step of control, you pave the path to being healthy.

Set some small goals...I reward myself after every 25 pound loss...new hairstyle, new handbag....nothing with food though!! LOL  Don't look at having to lose so much at one time...break it into small amounts...even 10 pounds is good...those pounds do add up and you will  be amazed at the progress you make.  Wishing you the best on this journey and encouraging you to post daily on your profile page...it helps keep you motivated and inspires others...you can do this...just believe!  Have a wonderful, safe and healthy Thanksgiving.  Hugs, SisterC

  • This is the umpteenth time I'm starting my fitness plan. I've failed so many times & I really need support so I can reach my goal. Here's a little about me...

My name is Jacqui & I'm 35 years old. I was a very active youth & my weight didn't start until after the birth of my first child. I got most of the weight off fairly quickly, but after my second child, I started gaining and it wasn't coming off. I had tubal ligation because of difficult pregnancies/deliveries (I had C-sections both times) and my doctor feels that could've contributed to what I'm now dealing with--PCOS.

I'm 5'2" & weigh 260 lbs. It embarrasses me to put that in writing, even though it's only to strangers. I'm working hard to stay on my meds for PCOS, which should help wake up my metabolism. But I need to exercise to help control the PCOS and to get the weight off.

I started--again--on my treadmill tonight (after watching a very motivating episode of Biggest Loser). I walked 20 minutes. I'm starting my SlimFast shakes again tomorrow.

I would appreciate any help. Even daily emails if anyone would be interested in helping. I'd be more than happy to return the favor. Fortunately for all my friends, but unfortunately for me, they're all in great shape, so not the best mentors.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me. I really need to do this, and I don't think I can do it alone :(

    Thanks :)
