    Thank you so much :)

I don't think I'm so horrible :-) Actually, my daughter and I have a wonderful relationship..She supported my weight loss efforet 100%. I go to AZ in the winter and she was out ther not long after I started (about two months after). Then she didn't see me until we got back at the end of April, so she could really tell the difference between when she was out there and when we got back. She was the only one back here who knew I was doing this. Too many times I'd said to people (including my doctor) "I'm going to do it this winter! I'm coming back 50# lighter! To never do it..So, when I started I told my husband I wasn't telling anyone because they'd just think" yeah, sure, just like other winters :-(  So, needless to say, EVERYONE was shocked when we got back, including my doctor when I went in for my spring checkup..

I hope you can convince your sister to try a better way to lose weight. That's not healthy the way she does it, even if it's just a few pounds. The dieticians here will also tell you that your sister's way of doing it, by starving herself actually slows doewn a persn's metabolism. Eating more often (and the right foods) keeps it going, thereby aiding in weight loss...Well, I better get to bed. 5:30 comes way to early for me! Have a great Friday and a successful week!.... and please, both of you, keep posting. It helps you to have buddies and I'd also like to know how you're doing.....Goodnight..PAnn

That is awesome :) I wish my family had such a good relationship. We're kind of... broken? dysfunctional? There is always lots of yelling and sarcastic comments, and any attempt at stopping it get's laughed at (literally). My friends always tell me I just need to get away from them and only stay in contact with my much more supportive friends but it's harder to do that than people think.

But it's so great that your daughter and you have such a close relationship! It's really amazing what you did :) And I hope to copy it. I'm out of college for my summer break, and when I go back I'm hoping to be at least 30lbs lighter, and just shock all my friends! Right now I've hit a plateau though, while I've been extremely sick. I just stay at 170. Guess it's better than gaining though since I've entirely changed my diet to sick food, and cut out the exercise. I just hope I get well enough to start losing again soon.

I hope so too. She's always been obsessed with her weight, before she had kids she weighed 90lbs (at 5'4) and ate very little. And when she did eat was many restaurant salad/fast food. So not the most healthy stuff. I just know if I get down to her size, or even smaller than her (now she's about 110-120 I believe I said this before though lol) she'll have to admit it can be done in a healthy way :) And she may be stupid sometimes (by her own admission) but she'll generally admit when she's wrong.

Sorry I haven't been on in two days, it's just this dratted cold has got me down and out of the game a bit.

concrats on ur weight loss. our mothers can be so critical sometimes but as long as u belive in what u r doing dont let it get you down. i cant weight till i can start fitting in to smaller clothes`

Thanks :) I know our Mom's just want what's best for us, it's just hard sometimes. I'm sure you will be fitting smaller clothes very soon! New clothes are great motivation to keep you on your diet (at least they are for me haha)

    PAnn:

Thank-you!  I borrowed that dress in the after picture from my 15 yr. younger, slim sister last Aug. The dress is a size 8! I'm now in a 2-4... .....

Mom's can be funny :-) ask my two grown kids! ...My daughter, who is 33 (and a mom herself ) is on the SF program, too. She's down about 35# since mid-March....Much success to you!

Oh my gosh! That's amazing! I sincerely hope I can do that to my older slim sister. She is about 110-120lbs, but she starves herself for a week whenever she thinks she's too fat (Hopefully I can be the way to convince her there is a healthy way to get to, and maintain that weight)

Rotfl!!! Are you very horrible for your kids? :) I know every child has some issues with their parents :) But it seems like you've been a great influence for your daughter! 35 is just absolutely awesome!

  • No she has not :( She is very stuck in her own ways. She refuses to even consider that this could possibly be a good thing and simply keeps implying that it will give me cancer or something... But I've learned you can't argue with your mother. You can only do what you are going to do, let her see for herself that she is wrong, and than NEVER mention it to her :P Unless you have something against breathing... ;)

I agree, I think this is a very healthy program :) And very effective too. (By the way, I read your profile and it looks like you are doing AMAZING!!! and that picture, wow!).

  • Congratulations on the 14#'s! You're on a very healthy program. Has you mom ever looked at the menus? Maybe then she would see how healthy we eat. Any exercise is a plus, too. Keep up the good work!  PAnn

  • So my Mom has been extremely cynical about my weight loss program. (Slim-fast and turbo-jam workout). She tells me constantly that 'I didn't need a shake to put on the weight' (to which I'd tell her she didn't need a marching in place video to put on the weight either :P). Anyway, anytime I'd lose a pound I'd be like Woohoo, and she'd be like oh right, you lost a pound this quickly, sure, whatever.

Well 14 lbs later (and 14 of Mom's eyerolls and sarcastic comments) I asked her to take me to the clothing store...

Boy was she shocked when I fit in a pair of size 9 jeans :D She was absolutely stunned. (I went with the size 12 cause I like my jeans fitting a little bit loser, I'm a comfort clothing type of person) but the look on her face when I came out of the dressing room in size 9 jeans was priceless.  Darn that felt good :)
