Congratulations on getting started toward your weight loss goal!

Based on your post, it seems like you may not be eating enough calories. I know that is the opposite of what people expect.

BUT your body
needs at least 1200 calories each day just to maintain your body functions and
keep your organs performing at their optimal level. By consuming too few
calories, your body is likely to go into a starvation mode, causing you to hold
on to the calories that you do eat. This
will work against your goal of losing weight and keeping it off. Rapid weight loss because of inadequate
calorie intake may lead to a greater amount of water and muscle loss. Very low calorie diets may cause fatigue and
dizziness, with less energy for being active.
It also feeds the cycle of yo-yo dieting.

The minimum
amount of calories a person should consume varies according to their current
weight. The more someone weighs, the
more calories they need to maintain their basic body functions. This is why there are different Slim-Fast
plans based on weight ranges. All plans
include the basic 3 meals and healthy snacks scheduled into every day.
That's part of the science of why Slim Fast works. Below you will find an outline of the
Slim-Fast plans based on weight. If you feel that these are not appropriate for
you, we recommend that you speak with a doctor or dietitian for more guidance
in this area.

Slim-Fast
Plans Based on Weight:

Up to 140
lbs: 1300 calories/ day

141-170
lbs: 1500 calories/ day

171-200
lbs: 1700 calories/day

Over 200
lbs: 1900 calories/ day

If you don't have time during the work day to have your snacks, you can combine them with your meals or have them when you are not at work.

I happened to look at the "My Water Intake" section on this website and it says that if you drink the 64oz of water a day that will keep you hydrated as well as help elimnate the hunger feeling. Apparently, if you think you're hungry it just may be that your body is trying to tell you that you need to hydrate.

So I guess my mother knows what she's talking about after all!!! :o)

Re: HI! I'm a sacker there. I see all kinds of food so you might guess that I'm staying hungry NON STOP and the hunger control stuff doesn't work for me..any ideas on how I could make it work and still lose weight instead of gaining?

Re: HI! That sounds like a yummy snack you have for your 3rd.

I've been using Slim-Fast for nearly 2 weeks. I started out drinking the ready made shake in the morning for the first 12 days, but now I'm onto the bars for breakfast and morning snack instead, only until I can get more of the ready made drinks.

I don't really have any tips, but I definitely wish you luck :)

Re: HI! So far so good but it's only been a day or two since I started. I am currently drinking a Ready to Drink Slim-fast shake for breakfast and lunch and because of my job I am skipping snack #1 and 2. For dinner I usually have a couple vegetables along with low sodium crackers and some kind of meat. Typically the meat is either chicken with all fat trimmed off or a fat-free pork(well it doesn't come that way but I make it that way). Sometimes a pound of ground turkey or ground chuck. For snack #3 I have fallen in LOVE with 2TBSP's of Applesauce unsweetened and 1 sliced large strawberry right on top. The question I have is this, am I on the right track??

OH I almost forgot the special event I'm trying to lose weight for is a birthday blow out my friends are having this year right before christmas, I'm 210 now and I wanna be about 125 or less. It feels like a forever amount of time away but I"m hoping I can do this. Please post tips and ofcourse encouragement. Later.
