    One thing that is really important in achieving lasting weight loss is eating enough calories. Having 2 shakes and a salad per day is way under the amount of calories anyone should consume. While the amount of calories someone should have per day varies based on weight and height, everyone needs at least 1200 calories.

    I posted this on another thread as well, but wanted to share the info with you as well:

    Your body needs at least 1200 calories each day just to maintain your body functions and keep your organs performing at their optimal level. By consuming too few calories, your body is likely to go into a starvation mode, causing you to hold on to the calories that you do eat, turning them into unwanted body fat. This will work against your goal of losing weight and keeping it off.  Rapid weight loss because of inadequate calorie intake may lead to a greater amount of water and muscle loss.  Very low calorie diets may cause fatigue and dizziness, with less energy for being active.  It also feeds the cycle of yo-yo dieting.

    The minimum amount of calories a person should consume varies according to their current weight.  The more someone weighs, the more calories they need to maintain their basic body functions.  This is why there are different Slim-Fast plans based on weight ranges.  All plans include the basic 3 meals and healthy snacks scheduled into every day.   • so far the 2 shakes and the salad is working for me, i try to stay busy and work in the yard and on sewing a quilt. i eat a hand-full of raisins a about 9:00p.m. and then go to bed. it helps with that craving at night.

  • is the 2 shakes and a salad working 4 you? I am doing the same thing- i try to eat a salad for lunch and nothn in the evenings and i have 2 shakes a day- mostly breakfast and afternoon , i am trying to fight the cravings!!! ANYONE  with suggestions to fight cravings, please let me know- i am open to all suggestions!!!

  • Hello all iam new and really trying hard iam going on a cruise in nov. and need to lose as a lot so i can walk with out being out of breath and on pain,iam drinking two shakes a day and salad at super right now any idels will help good luck all diana  (Iam not a very good speller so please bear with me thank you)
