  • A reward system is a great idea, as well as the journal suggestion.  It is soooooooooo frustrating to work so hard and be so disciplined for 1 lb at the end of the week.  I am definitely going to try the reward system. I think it will help with feeling a sense of accompishment.  Well, I hope you have a great time in October.  Be sure to share your progress, I will be rooting for you! Clap your hands:9744

  • Mrs. Geef you can do it. I know some times it is hard to modivate ourselfs but hey we know what we truley need. I hope your new system works out. I too also thought about the new book idea. I just try to get excited. I to am going on a cruise but in Feb. of 2010. I am trying hard. People really can't understand how you feel when it comes to dieting or loosing weight. So I have been Keeping a detailed journal of my every move how I feel, when I eat. This has been helping me.  So cheer up like Mary Poppkins said with out the spoonful of sugar  :-). You can do it . I am down my first 4pds..

  • Hi, I am going on a cruise in October and am also trying to motivate myself.  What I finally did was make a reward chart for myself, if i work out at the gym 3 times a week I get a new book, if I go two weeks I get something else and if I go at least 3 times a week for a month I get to have a pedicure.  So far this has helped me to keep working out because I know I get something at the end of the week that I want and it is sometimes more rewarding then working out so much and only loosing one pound.  Good luck and happy working out.

    My family and I are going on a cruise vacation November 1, 2009.  I thought that this would a great way to jump start me loosing weight.  So far, I have done well with changing my eating habits, or controlling my cravings, rather; but i am really finding it hard to be motivated about excersize.  I am a part timer with three children and a husband, I tend to blame the house work and cooking for a family of five for why I don't use the gym membership I am paying for.  I really need some helpful suggestions of ways to get motivated and fast.  Once I get started I can usually roll from there, but ut has really been hard getting started this time, feel like i have been down this road before! :-(  Please, anyone with some helpful hints, give me a yell.  I really do not want to be mistaken for a beached whale on this cruise!
