  • Hello Im new to all this and I am terrible on the computer. I just wanted to say that was not true. Im a medical professional I work in the OR room. because if that statement were true almost everybody that works in the hospital would have cancer haha. I have to say one thing though those meals are not very healthy considering all the salt thats in them you have to be careful about that. its safe to have them 2 or 3 times a week but more than that would be excessive. I am good when it comes to fitness but my eating habits terrible. but good luck on like you say it chubby  wife/mommy/hostess thing. If you have any other questions just ask Ill be happy to answer them.

  • Hi there! I was reading a risk factor for *** cancer questionnaire on the net under breastcancer.com and the frozen dinners were listed as a risk factor. I was as surprised as you and your mother are. I can't say that I plan to cut out eating these types of meals altogether, but I'm going to try more stir fry cooking in a pan. It's just that microwaving is so convenient after a hard day. By the way I'm looking for a buddy to help encourage my weight loss efforts. I'm trying to get swimsuit ready by May. I'm in my 40s (no bikinis!) and have a nine year old son who is very active along with his Dad who is wonderful, but keeps in shape running. I can't keep up yet. I want to, though. we have a pool in our yard so we attract the summer parties for all ages and I don't want to be the chubby wife/mommy/hostess this summer. I have a sweet tooth that is my downfall and I love to read and eat a little something while I do. Anyway, enough about me, Let me know if you'd like to encourage one another as buddies. Mo Thornton

  • I'm wondering where you heard this? I've been eating these meals for years as well, and so has my mother (who is a nurse) and neither of us have heard of this!  Thanks!

  • I love to have a satisfying healthy meal with my family after a Slimfast and exercise-filled day. Or even one where I failed to exercise and need to cap those calories. bUT I'm not always up to having pre-cooked and counted out the calories for half a week's worth of meals and frozen them to use for our small family of three. So I reach for a Lean Cuisine of Smart One etc.

But I have read several reports recently that link such microwaved plastic dishes covered with plasticized tops to *** cancer as a risk factor. This scares me. I've eaten enough of these meals to be concerned. Is anyone out there in the medical field? Or has anyone else heard/read of such a link? I hate to give up such a convenient solution to a healthy meal, but loathe risking my health which is more important to me in the long run. Please advise - Mo Thornton
