  • i buy the spice that has cinnamon and sugar mixed together in the bottle, there for you will not get much sugar at all just sprinkle on the apples and cook or put in microwave

  • I have tried this in the mike a couple min. (depending how firm you like the apples)

  • I have an apple snack similar to what you just discribed but, I dont' cook my apple and I just sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar over the apples so it doesn't add too much calories to it.  I don't put much regular sugar with the cinnamon but, I heard that cinnamon can make your metabloism increase.  So I try and put more cinnamon on the apples.  Just thought I would share how I eat my apples without a lot of work.  I hate work and if I have to dirty a pan to make it then its work.  LOL  Have a good weekend!  Teri

  • Hi everyone!  Picassobear here!  I'm new to this group and I thought I'd begin by sharing a snack/dessert that I make.  You'll need:

                            1 apple (I like Fuji apples, but any will taste great!)

                            Butter flavored Pam

                            Cinnamon

                            1 teas. brown sugar

          Cut and core your apple and slice really thin (leave the skin on)

          Heat skillet with the Pam on medium and add the slices of apple. Now saute` until the slices "wilt", sprinkle with the cinnamon, add the brown

          sugar, reduce the heat to low, stir to mix well. Serve in a bowl and enjoy!! (for a special treat you could add a squirt of "Low Fat" whipped

          cream!!)  A variation to this is to add 1/2 of a banana.

    This may sound like i'ts a no-no but, if you break the calories down and recognize the healthy fruit benefit, it's really a very good yes-yes!!!

    The one thing we seem to forget about when we are on a weight reducing plan is that...some day we ALL want to enjoy fun and tasty foods.  Eating is a social thing and is part of our lives forever. I know I won't eat Lean Cuisine when I'm 80 and I won't give up my favorite slice of pie for the rest of my life!!  We just need to learn to make logical substitutions that we can LIVE with for the rest of our lives.  Most of us have had a battle with our weight our entire life and it's always going to be that way because we are who we are!!  BUT...we can re-educate ourselves so we can still enjoy the yummy foods and desserts that are tempting us everyday!!  Once we understand our individual limitations and plan just a little!!  Well enough of that!!  We are all beautiful and sensitive people!!! Now we are learning to bring out that thin healthy person inside that we really and truly are!!
