    I made this and is excellent.  However, I omitted the cream cheese...did not sound like it was

    necessary.  Believe me, was not needed at all.

  • Ok, I haven't tried this one, but think I will soon.  For those of you who have husbands that insist on beef (or maybe you like it too), here's a low fat beef meal.

    Makes 10 servings (of course, not 10 MAN-SIZE portions -- so your man can eat his share)

    Best made in 6 quart slow cooker.

     

    1 1/2 lb round steak, trimmed of fat

    1/4 cup flour

    1/2 tsp pepper (certainly can add more for taste - nothing wrong w/pepper in your diet and its a natural metabolism booster)

    1/2 tsp salt

    1 tsp garlic, minced (I'll likely add more because I'm a garlic fan -- as is the rest of my family)

    1 small onion, chopped

    1 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce

    1 beef bouilon cube

    1 can 98% fat-free cream of mushroom soup

    1 cup water

    8 oz pkg fat-free cream cheese, cubed

     

    1.  Combine onion, soy sauce, bouillon, soup and water in slow cooker.

    2.  Cut steak into strips.

    3.  Mix together flour, pepper, salt & garlic and then dredge steak strips into it; then place strips into slow cooker mixture.

    4.  Cook on low 6-7 hrs, stirring occasionally.

    5.  Add cream cheese cubes in the last 30 minutes of cooking.

    Can be served over egg noodles (no-yolk style probably the best for you).

    W/O EGG NOODLES:  140 calories, 4.5 fat (1.5 satured), and 0 fiber.  (3 pts for Weight Watchers people)

    If anyone tries this out - let me know what you think.  It sure sounds good to me, but I have my meals for this week already planned so it probably won't be fixed until next week.
