Sometimes I get exhausted and sleep for a hour or so and then I perk up again. but if I don't have my snacks at the appropriate times I really have trouble. Don't skip meals or snacks and eat the amount you are suppose to have. I do not do too well on water but it does fill in the holes. Just keep focused on your afternoon snack or supper and soon the long afternoons will be over. This is so important you can't let yourself slide. Do whatever you need to do to keep busy or walk or sleep during your rough time. Wahtever you do, don't give up! Good luck. I do far more than that. On day when I don't drink my water.. are days when this plan gets HARD. Next time your hungry, slam a glass of water, wait a few minutes, and reevaluate the feelings your having.

Re: Started out Strong

Something that helped me the first week was to tell myself that I would get to eat again in 2 hours. There were lots of times (still are) that I watch the clock like a hawk and run to the kitchen for my shake or snack because I can hardly stand the wait!

Re: Started out Strong

JENTORRES2006:

somewhere after lunch I fizzled out and gave into temptation

Hey Jenn,
Glad you are getting back on the ball with dinner. Did you have your morning snack and did you get enough calories at lunch? Just asking. I did alright today. My downfall is the evenings when I study, but I've been sticking with carrots and celery the last two days so maybe I might be alright? Today I had an SF "sweet and salty chocolate Almond" meal bar. Wow! was that awesome. I hadn't had one before but it was sooo good and satisfying. I highly recommend them. Tonight, on my meal plan is roasted asparagus and roasted potatoes. I'm looking forward to that too. I'm glad you posted. My first few days were rough also, so I can relate to you. Keep talking and you'll get past the humps. You CAN do this.

I ate avariety of things but they werent high in fat/cal but it wasnt n my meal plan. As I write this I am comming into dinner and I plan to follow the rest of my meal plan for the night no matter what.

I know that if I wasnt held accountalbe then I would have called this night a flunk and started "new" tomorrow and indulged in anything I felt I wanted to eat, or wasnt nailed/locked down.

I'm glad that I have a place to come and just vent about things like this caus it makes such a diffrence lol.
