  • I could keep my bars in the living room so I would have less trips to the kitchen, but my husband reminded me that my brother would probably eat them! LOL  I do  love my brother and his kids and am glad  they are coming and I hope I will be pretty pleased with myself on the other side of the weekend. you're right.  Thanks Suzanne

  • weekend company would be really hard.  I guess anytime we do something that is difficult and get to the other side, we can be so proud!

  • I do have a plan for dinner that day, but I think the rest of the weekend with company (that takes turn eating between meals) is a problem. There is always someone with something good in hand and mouth. Maybe I should tell them to turn their back when they are snacking so I don't ahve to see them... no... But staying out of the kitchen between meals is key. They can and do help themselves often anyway so  maybe I just won't wait on them at all... just put the bowls out for them and they can do for themselves.  That way I won't be tempted to lick my fingers and then taste stuff. Sometimes it just helps to write it out with someone. I think I may be getting a workable plan. Thanks Mom2teens  for being here and listening. Have a great day, Suzanne

  • Can you decide what you will work into your meal plan for the day?  Do you need to say no to all of it for the whole day?  (I'm not talking leftovers or days and days of binges.)  Who told me that the first bite tastes just good as the 30th bite? Can you make a decision that either THIS is what you will have on Thanksgiviing or this is what you will NOT have.  Whatever will work for you.  I have decided that Thanksgiving and Christmas are days not weeks and I have a plan for the DAY.  Did you read through the prior post about Thanksgiving?  I loved the tight pants idea...so funny...will probably work wonders.

  • This last week has been so hard and I've been downright unhappy a lot of the time. I made a cake to some special company and managed to get through it without tasting the frosting at all so I was pretty proud of myself. Then we froze the left over cake to save it for Thanksgiving. Then we gave a piece to my skinny workout partner and it hit me. I really wanted some, but no i didn't. The I saw pumpkin pie on TV and started craving that. Then it hit me. i wanted everything I saw. My husband suggested maybe I was getting stresses about Thanksgiving and I think he is right. I thought I was so smart and had my mind all made up how to handle it, and it a of a sudden I realized this is going to be hard. My niece visits so she can  eat chocolate cake and icecream and pancakes... everything good she can get, actually... she's a starving college student. And my Brother loves goodies and so does my nephew. Am I going to be able to stand watching them eat cake while I eat my delicious bars. Yes, but how about when I can't have a bar? when its not my snack time? This is going to be a real test. I am working on the theory that I can have some next year and hoping by them I won't need any, but I don't think that is working all that well. And this is only practice for Christmas...! I know I can't have tastes of things. One taste and it will be over. Help! Scream! Hair pull! Have a great day, Suzanne
