Oh darlin', you ARE gonna do it, I just know it!  One of the hardest things for me was to come to terms with WHY I had gained the weight.  I didn't think I was an emotional eater, but danged if I'm not!  LOL!   When I was much younger I gained weight due to a bad, miserable, rotten marriage.  : )  When I got divorced, after the emotional turmoil of that was over, I lost ALOT of weight.  Then, silly girl that I am, I did it again!  LOL!  Another not so great marriage and ALOT of weight.  I'm not saying you are an emotional eater, just that I had to figure out why I was eating then find something else to take the place of food when I was upset, or stressed or whatever.  Like getting on this site when I'm feeling a craving.  Or taking a walk.  My dogs have never been cleaner because when I feel the need to eat...they get a bath!  LOL!  And I have 5 big dogs!!   You'll get through the tough times and we're all here to help each other!  Take care!  Jan

Wow... you know, I am an emotional eater. Whenever I get stressed, I feel like I need food... Even when I'm not the least bit hungry. I'm trying  to change that now by taking a drive if i'm upset, or getting on here. These little things help.. and your story helps a lot! Thank you!! Good luck to you as well! :-)

I'm new to this site however; I am a veteran when it comes to weight loss challenges. I don’t know how many times I have started and stopped. That is one of the reason I’m still trying.

I would say, please don't beat yourself up if you fall off for a moment. My advice for you would be for you to forget the past. Move forward and correct whatever and restart. Do not let your restart go past a day. This only makes the startup harder.

    Hold you head up girlfriend!!

that is awesome advice. I am going to take it and apply it. Good luck to you as well!!

I started out the same way that you have. Its hard at first even if your mind is set to it, but the more you beat yourself up about it the more likely you are to let your weight get out of control. There will be times when you will say a gain, but its not that big of a deal, your body does fluctuate. Another thing to note is, everyone has cravings and its just trying to satisfy the cravings by replacing them with something else which is really the battle here. I only drink 1 shake a day, i find it very filling so i don't want to drink mroe than one. But i believe you can do this, and if you believe it to then you will =)

    Hope those words helped

Thank you! It helped a lot. I'm definitely trying to replace my cravings with something else. Good luck to you as well!

  • Hey!

You know if this were going to be easy, we would all not be on this site you CAN do this!! Don't think of it as a diet, it is a life change, that’s what I had to do. Just remember all of the hard work WILL pay off in the end, yes it may be hard to do it now, but it is so worth it. Try starting a mantra and wearing a ring or bracelet. When you’re tempted spin the ring or touch your bracelet saying your mantra. Keep the mantra positive and short with something about how good of a person you are, how amazing you are, good things. If you know you are amazing now then when your thinner you will have no problems with gaining weight back back. Good luck and keep positive!

  • I am sorry you are going through a hard time.  I think these challenges are a part of the journey.  If it were easy, we would take it for granted and not reach out for support.

I have a saying on my fridge:  Failure is only opportunity to more intelligently begin again (Henry Ford).

Also, a quote from "Who Moved My Cheese": We make change harder for ourselves because we often overestimate the value of what we are giving up, and we under-estimate the value of what we might gain by giving it up.

Peace be with you this beautiful Sunday morning ~

On a different note, how do you post the cool weight ticker?  I have mine set up but when I cut and paste to a tag and then post, it shows up as the code and not the ticker ????

  • I don't even know if this is the best place to write this. I am feeling pretty low today. I am already falling out of my diet. I haven't had my 2 shakes a day in a few days. I wake up late and just have one. I am just so disappointed with myself. My weight went up 3 pounds in a week. I am trying to stay positive and not beat myself up, but I really feel bad. I want to lose this weight so bad, but my cravings mess me up every time.  All I can do is pick myself up and try harder tomorrow, i suppose. I just want to be strong and motivated. Thanks for reading my ramblings :-)
