    The veggie burgers I get locally are called BOCA, I see another brand in the stores but with a higher calorie count. Today for lunch I had light oatmeal bread (70calories), Veggie burger (70), 1 slice of light cheese (30) mustard (0) and relish(20) plus a bag of frozen mixed veggies( I cooked them of course)(300 calories for the whole bag). I had a banana and Slimfast meal bar for breakfast.

    Then I got on my bike and rode since its a nice sunny day here.

    oops I forgot the weight question... I lost 100 lbs (in two days NOT) and then with a crappy job and other issues I gained 45 back and as of  today I have lost 20 of what I gained back.  I was close to 400 pounds when I finally getting real about living healthy, plus I had an Uncle not to old die of a heart attack and I didn't want to follow suit.

  • Hi!  I know when you 1st start a diet you lose weight quickly so i wont be surprised when it slows down although i am enjoying how quick the weight is coming off.  actually my walking support is my father.  he is trying to some weight as well so he walks with me.  I dont know if i would do it on my own.  I enjoy walking and talking and it makes the time go that much quicker.  it takes 1 hour and 25 minutes to do the 5 miles. as for the soda,  i was a big soda eater and i have had 2 20 0z diet sodas in the last 2 weeks and other than that crystal light and a ton of water.  I work in a drs office and fast food is a big thing there so i have learned to avoid. 

    You mentioned veggie burgers...which brand do you buy?? I bought one once and didnt care for it so I was wandering.  I love jello so i will keep the sugar free jello in mind.  I have a ton of fresh fruit in my fridge but i am not big on the veggies so i have to work on that. 

    I just walked my five miles so i am done for the day but i will be back out there tomorrow.  Thank you for the support and advice.  How much weight have you lost?  I will keep you updated and good luck

    That's great with the 14 pounds, also remember don't and I mean don't get disappointed if you lose one pound or don't lose anything.  Remember anything is better than a gain. Remember that Micky d's has salads, grilled chicken not crispy...or worst case get a happy meal, while the calorie count isn't the best it better that that big mac attack you had.

    I have found that I like veggie burgers and turkey burgers so I don't miss those burgers.  The brand of veggie burger I get is only 70 calories per burger and if I use light wheat bread that's 70 calories for both pieces of bread together (white bread would be 120 calories). Little mustard is zero calories so I can add  cheese and lettuce to make my own version of the fast food chains big sandwiches.

    Your popsickle idea is right on the money too. I was going to mention that, but you beat me too it. I always mention sugar free jello too.  The store brand I use is 40 calories for the whole box.  I use the 1 cup containers from Glad or Ziplock to make my gelatin in. Minus any fruit cocktail I might add to then they are only 20 calories for a handy snack.

    On the Biggest Losers they always mention Extra gum....I actually found that it kept me away from snacking during the work day.

    That's great you have that support, do they walk with you too? or is this your own personal time? I ride my bike and listen to music to relax my mind.

  • Well i am almost done with week 2 and I am down 14 pounds.  I have learned that water is great. I was able to walk 5 miles four days this week and hopefully again tomorrow and monday.  When i start walking i think why am i doing this but when i am done i feel great and cant wait to do it again the next day.  My dad and boyfriend and daughter are very supportive of me.  I wanted a big mac do bad the other nite ( i am an emotional eater and i was having a rough day )  and my boyfriend talked me out of it and i gave me a popsicle.  if you freeze crystal light in ice cube trays and put sticks in them they are really good. I do have to keep up my will power at work with everyone eating mcdonalds and every other fast food place around  but i have not given in. well i will keep everyone posted on how week 3 goes and i wish everyone good luck and any body who just started it does get easier.
