  • Hi Lynn and Bo

I am doing good. It wasn't to bad here today. It was almost 50 degrees it felt like spring since it has been down in the teens to twenties for like ever. I lost 2 pounds this week. I am down not 8 pounds since Jan 6 I feel so good about that. I still walk an hour everyday. I'm sorry everyone is have such problems with the this new site. I haven't really had any problems with it. I think one thing they could do is put a next in the forums though so if there is more than one page you can just hit next and it will go to the next page, instead of having to go back to the discussions. There is one forum that is like 22 pages and you can't even go to all the pages if you wanted to read everything with it. I love reading the forums. I do that when I get the munches instead of eating. Actually what I do is read and eat Ice I freeze my ice trays with very little water so it is like eating ice chips. That way I am eating but what I am eating doesn't have calories and most of the time the mad munchies go away.

Lynn riding your bike for 2 hours is great. I bet you will see a change on the scale. If you don't though don't feel bad because you are building muscle and remember muscle weighs more that fat. I hear it is better to not really look at the scale as to look and how your clothes fit. I don't know how long you have to exercise before you start getting more muscle, if it is right away or if it takes a few weeks. But it will come off slow but sure. I have hear people say that they didn't lose any weight for like 3 or 4 weeks then when the 5th week came around they dropped like 10 pounds all at once. So keep that in mind.

Just remember to stay focused and eat slowly that way your brain will register that you are full before you over eat.

Keep Smiling just remember it is exercise for your face.

  • Hi Lynn and Marie:  Lynn - two hours of exercise - this is awesome - especially since it must be freezing up there in Michigan right now!  Right on!  Good job!  Woo! Hoo! As Vickie says on Desperate Housewives of Orange County!  Bo-Peep

  • Barney-Lynn:  That is such a cute picture of you and the baby!  I love it!  Today I took some antibiotics and had a side effect from them.  I rarely get sick but here I am.  Also, I dislike this new format as well.  It is not customer friendly - it is very difficult to maneuver - and it takes forever to load your answer afterwards.  Slim Fast?  Are you out there?  Fire your programmer, ok?  Lynn - I am married and take care of my elderly Mother - which has caused me to be stressed out and gain weight.  However, there is a silver lining - I developed a line of jewelry here at home that is very cool - I have just submitted my trademark application and have been assigned a serial number, and I have done much of my other paperwork.  Yes, the economy is in shambles - but we are down so low we can only go up again someday and I am going to be ready.  So, I want to start getting ready to be slimmer for my new career.  And, I am no youngster.  I am in California and am fifth generation and live in the same town where I went to school - there is no work here - so we came home in 2001 after I did most of my work down south.

Now, I wouldd love to join the biggest loser with you.  Is that on the main page?  I am sure I will be messed up when I go back out there to figure it out but I am no quitter so I will go look.  Let's do this together, Lynn, and everyone.  I am too old for a bypass - I went to a meeting of people who had the bypass - to me they looked like they aged ten years from having the operation.  But, that is my opinion.  We can take this off, and like you said today, Lynn, work it off.  I have also read you will lose more weight from your eating routine than from your exercise routine.  I do not mind telling you, and IO do not ask that anybody tell me, but I weigh 260 poiunds and I am 5'9", and I feel lousy from being overweight.  Not sick - but crummy.  I really appreciate everyone's feedback very, very much.  Thank you.  And, thanks Lynn, for being my buddy too!  Bo-Peep

  • Hi Marie

Sorry I didn't get back with you.  I have been having a hard time with this new format.  It kept telling me my password and username was invalid.  So hopefully I have if figured out.

I really did my share of exercising today.  This morning I did some exercising, this afternoon, and again this evening.  I use a dvd power walk and rode my exercise bike.  I don't remember how many miles I put on that but alltogether I spent about 2 hours on that alone.  So if I don't lose this next week I will not be happy.

    Keep strong and focused.

    Lynn

  • Hi Bo-Peep. Yes I will be your buddy.  I don't like the new format of Slimfast.  I have been having a hard time getting on.  I kept getting kicked of.  Hopefully I can figure it out and won't be kicked off again.

I did quit a bit of exercising today.  I did some this morning, then again this afternood, then I even did it again this evening.  That is the most I've done in a long time.  It really felt good.  I am also joining the biggest loser.  You have to pay for that, so it will probably be a couple of weeks.  I want to see what Julian has in store.  Good Luck!! we can do this. lynn:  asa:Barney

  • Hi Barney:  You can motivate me too!  I am re-joining weight watchers for the millionth time tomorrow morning at 8:30 am just so I have someone to report to the scale and I can be accountable.  I do not like their diet plan - I like slim fast and doing my own thing.  Best wishes ot yo ufor a new start - we can do this - w e only live once and it would be nice to look the best we can at any age.  your bud - Bo-Peep

  • Hi Bo

That is a great Idea to walk in the Living room because then you can watch tv and before you know it you've walked your half hour or hour because you were watching tv you didn't even know you walked that long. I wished I had the room to have a treadmill but I don't. I don't mind walking the house. I just love walking when it is quite. I can think of ways to eat healthier and what I need to get done for the day.

I'm glad I inspired you and you are an inspiration too.

    Good luck and stay focused.

  • Bubble:  I think that is so great how you walk in the house in the morning for an hour.  That is a great idea - where there is a will - there is a way!  You are inspiring.  I have a treadmill - maybe I will drag it out into the living room.  Keep up the great work!  Bo-Peep

  • Hi Lynn

That is GREAT down 10 pounds. I am down 8 pounds I am feeling good about that. I walk for my exercise and I love it. I walk my house. I walk from my dinning room doorway through the kitchen through the family room to the window and back I do that for 1 hour every morning. I love to walk when everyone is asleep because it is so quite and its just me and my thoughts. I was hoping to lose 2 more pounds by tomorrow but I don't think it will happen but I was hoping so I could say I lost 10 pounds in a month but I am happy with 8 pounds. That is alot of potato's off this body. Alot of people on here use the potato anaolgoy about the weight you lose to look at it like a bag of potato's or butter. If you looked at what 8 or 10 pounds of butter would look like that is nice to know that it isn't on your body anymore.

I"m glad you got your computer fixed. It is a pain when they get a virus on your computer. I hope you didn't lose anything on it.

Well I better go keep up the good work. Stay strong and focused.

    Marie

  • I would like it very much for you to be my buddy.  Sorry it took longer to get back with you my computer was done.  I had a virus and to get if fixed so I wasn't on line.  I have now lost 10 lbs.  So now If I can just stay motivated.  Lynn
