  • Hi Barney Welcome, You have come to the right place for motivation. Everyone here is here for each other, because we have all been where you are. Just take it a little at a time. What I did for exercise is I walk around my house. I walk for my dinning room through the kitchen through the family room to the window in there and then back. I do this for an hour everyday. I usually break it up into 2 walks. Mostly because I have a bad back due to a car accident so I can't walk for long intervals. But it is helping me alot. I used to only be able to walk 30 minutes at once now I am up to 45 minutes. I usually do it in the morning before anyone wakes up. This is my time. I like having the quiteness of the house. It is so peaceful. I love to walk because it is low impact so it doesn't really jar your body much.

    I hope this helps Good luck on your lifestyle change and remember take it one day at a time or even one meal at a time. The other thing to remember is portions eat slowly and drink water water water. Water really helps keep you feeling full.

  • Thank you for your motivation help.  I am going to get off the chair and start exercising.  I did really well last year.  But, I put some weight back on and didn't stick to it like I should have.  Now that I have encourgement I can get started again.  Keep in touch.  Barney                                             

  • I agree. Don't look at how much you have to lose, just look at today. Drink more water and start small. Even if your eating regular meals maybe use a smaller plate or serve yourself a smaller portion. Every little bit helps you to get you where you want to go...You CAN do this!!

  • Dont tackle too much at once promise yourself to start by doing those dvd's at least twice a week. Start small and gradually work up to a reasonable amount for weight loss. You just have to get up and do it...for better health... Good luck!

  • It seems I just cannot get motivated this year to lose the weight I need to.  I don't like to exercise much.  I have different dvds to watch, I watch the biggest loser.  But, I just can't get motivated.  Any suggestions out there that would help me through this slump? Barney
