  • Welcome, Jessica! I'm glad you're here. About this time last year I started this journey and never thought I could do it. Now I've had to go through my clothes and get rid of them because some are too big. It's an awesome feeling. I have a long way to go and I'm glad to be doing it with this fabulous group of women! Need a buddy? Feel free to add me :)

  • Hi Jessica!  Welcome!

Wow!  How do you do it all?  I'm in awe.

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in '97.  I was working full time (2nd shift) and going to school full time during the day.  I had to let school go.  Now I do office work, but I'm getting kind of bored with it.  I'm thinking about going back for accounting or paralegal.  I don't know, though.  School is hard.  And expensive.  And I have such bad memories of having to quit.

I started with SF about a week and a half ago.  I really like it, and I'm getting good results from it.  I had a 6-lb loss the first week.  I'm still losing, but I don't weigh in officially until Wednesday.

For exercise, I like low impact step aerobics (I use a 4 inch step).  I just bought these "chair dancing" videos to do on alternate days.  I sit on a stability ball to do it.  It's fun, and it really works the upper body.   With the step aerobics, I could only do 20 minutes at a time for a long time.  But today I had a breakthrough and did 30 minutes.  It felt good at the time.  I just hope I'm not whining for aspirin tomorrow.

Congrats on the 10-lb loss.  That's really good!  I like the way you put it as being "on a new mission of self discovery."  Sounds like you're taking control.  I'm sure you'll do well with that kind of positive attitude--and the support of your family.  I look forward to "seeing" you around on the boards!

  • Welcome to the SF boards Jessica!  Congrats on losing ten pounds already! Are you using SF shakes for any of your meals?  Sounds like you are definitely in a good state of mind to succeed on this weight loss journey.  You have plenty of support from your family, but you can find lots more here.... we all understand the challenges and struggles we go through on a daily basis.  Hope you continue posting!

  • Hello everyone, My name is Jessica. I am a working mother with three boys and am married. I go to school part time online at Everest University, I am going for Business Administration. It is hard to juggle all the things I do in a day, and now I'm going to throw excersing and eating right into the mix, this sould be fun. lol. But seriously, I am tired of losing then gaining back what I worked so hard to loose, so this just seemed like the plan for me. My husband and kids are very supportive of me in all my endevors, and ever agreed to eat the same meals as me for supper, how sweet right. I guess I am one of the lucky ones that have the support I need, now I just have to dig deeo inside and support myself. I stopped dieting aboout two years ago when I was diagnosided with Fibromyalgia. I thought that I would never be able to excersice due to the pain, and the medicine made me gain weight, so I had given up. About six months ago I happened to be in the store and stepped on a scale and it read 260 pounds, I was sick, not only with my weight, but with myself for letting it get this bad. So here I am on a new mission of self discovery, to see what I can do and how much weight I can loose, I want to this time and I doing it for mself not anyone else.  I have been excersing for the last three weeks and have lost ten pounds, and it feels good and I want to loose more. I feel more energitic and I don't have anymore pain then usual, and I've gotten use to that. Well, thanks for taking time to read this, and if you have anything to help please feel free to tell me. Thank you Jessica
