Thursday Group Weigh-in

  • Thursday sounds like a good day for me to do my weekly weigh-ins.  It will give me a chance to determine how much control I'll need for the weekend.  It will also give me a chance to see what I've accomplished for the week and allow time for me to plan a great 'non-food' celebration for the weekend.  I started my weight loss program today: 278 lbs.  So, my 1st weigh-in will be on Thanksgiving.  I will post my results on the following day.  "Good luck everybody"  :-)

  • Well it seems I'm finally back on track... Down 1.4lbs this week for 16lbs total :)

  • Same same same for me.  (:  Keep your head up Coni.  We all have our days.

  • Now you sound a lot better, Coni. I think so many of us  have a need  to control everything else, except ourselves. You are right . life happens and we just plain have to learn new ways of dealing. We will all feel better if we can learn to control our reaction to things, because we can't control  the things themselves. Good Luck and we expect to see you ticker counting your losses real soon. Suzanne

  • Thursday group had a much better showing than last week, so far by the posts anyway.  Twistygirl, WOW….that is an amazing showing… your posts always crack me up no salt, no sugar, no taste.. too funny.  Maybe I shouldn’t of moved the ticker so quickly.. but I move it just as quickly when I have a loss.  I’ll be weighing myself in the morning so maybe we will see a slight change.

But bad week or not.. life is going to happen.  I’m going to have ups and downs, there will always be something going on and I need to learn to deal with it, and not with binge eating and not with drinking.  This is all my own doing, as will be my success as well.  I see some of you, week after week, pounds after pounds coming off.. You all have made commitments and have not quit.  I have loss some battles in this war and I’m only in the begeining.  I need to learn from mistakes like this past week.. even if the house burns down around me, the dog dies, and I find myself homeless.. it is NOT an excuse to drink or eat.  This is something I can control, my eating and my exercise… there may be a lot I can’t.. but this is what I can.

Again.. Well done Thursday Group, well done!

  • Way to go Twistygirl!!  Whooo-hooo! You deserve that loss after the hard work you have been putting into getting healthy!! Wow!  I am so proud of you...keep it up!!

And congrats to the rest of you that show losses this week...fantastic!!  Each pound gone is one step closer to goal weight...stay strong!

Coni, dear sweet Coni....what a rough week you have had...I am so glad you found another place to live and are moving soon...no one needs stress like that, especially when it could be avoided...once again, you have shown how strong you are...someone like me would have put up with the crappy inconvenience and waited to see if it got better....you on the other hand, just take the bull by the horns and immediately find another place to live....gotta take pride in that!   Once you get settled in and get back on your routine, those pounds are going to come back off again...and don't forget to keep up with your running!  What an inspiration! You can do it, I believe in you....Hugs, SisterC

  • Hello everyone, as most of you know I started a new diet I am doing the low carb thing and I barely got my self together to start on Monday I wasn't looking for a loss but I stepped on the scale and gone 5lbs almost 6, 2oz short of 6lbs..........I have been peeing like crazy no salt and no sugar, I have been nursing a sodium or sugar headache............ I am determine not to feed it I know it will past I'm going to keep drinking my water and snack on my nuts.

Now Conni I am sure you didn't gain 6lbs its sounds like water I have had to move that ticker back atleast three or four times and it can effect your mood,  perhaps you should have not moved it back and waited one week to see if its water cause if it's water it will fall off so keep drinking your water with a little lemon juice got that from SisterC and it does work.......thats the reason I got off the slimfast diet bc I am so salt and sugar sensitve that I am now eating only whole foods that don't contain sugar or salt or (flavor) I was tired of the take 3 steps forward now take 7 steps back it was taken it's toll on me mentally I had to figure out why my body was holding on to the water weight...........Keep your head up stay strong....and remember you can defeat this problem or else it will defeat you and I refuse to allow you to take that path.  We all shall keep battling this war till we each sing VICTORY.............love you all with the love of Christ.........have a wonderful week and stay strong one meal at a time............twistygirl

  • Weigh-in days are not easy for a lot of us, so I applaud all of us for posting here... no matter what the scale says.  For me, despite exercising daily and sticking to the food plan, I only lost 1.2 pounds.  I think my 47 year old metabolism is worn out! Take note of that all of you 'youngsters.'   But as we always say, this is a journey... and mine is apparently going to take longer than I had hoped.  On the bright side, my total lost is now 42.6 pounds - GONE!

    sw: 252.2

    cw: 209.6

I will be out of town next Thursday (with no internet access for the whole week) so I wont be posting or weighing in.  Hope everyone has a nice Thanksgiving.

  • Awe I'm sorry you had a bad week. I had a few rough day's myself. But today is a new day and I plan on taking it one meal at a time! I just joined and just started this last week weighing in at 320. This morning I was 318!  I'm feeling good and am beginning to feel more and more motivated!  This group has been a huge part of that motivation!!

  • Coni, I am so sorry you had a bad week, but you sound like you will be back on the loosing track next time. As always you show us  a great deal of courage which will take you a long ways. Good luck!

I  had sign of any no weight loss the first part of the week, but on Tuesday the kids at my after  after school art class grades 1 through 3 wore two pounds off me! They are absolutely exhausting. I really have to give teachers a lot of credit!

Two pounds lost this week and 14 pounds total in five weeks.
